...and as always, so do I! Mitt sure is gathering a lot of steam in his campaign right now and it's going to be very, very interesting to see how the primaries end up unfolding. As of now, he has a wide lead in the two key-states that kick-off the primary season and who knows what will happen after that! If he nails it in Iowa and New Hampshire then WATCH OUT, AMERICA!

I just read a great book, by the way...called, "A Mormon in the White House? 10 Things Every American Should Know About Mitt Romney". It was written by a person not affiliated with the Mormon church and his premise is that if Romney is not elected as the GOP Nominee BECAUSE of his religious affiliations then America could possibly be turning their backs on a person more qualified to be president than anyone else in the field right now. It's a great book and I highly recommend it.

Thank you for your additions to this discussion. I listened to the song and agree that it's pretty neat! It sure would be a great day for all Americans to have a man in office who promotes integrity through everything he does, says, and believes! Religion aside, Mitt Romney is by far the most honorable person running for president and it would be a shame to dismiss him because of his personal Christian beliefs.

You have got to listen! go to www.ericproffitt.com and listen to the first song (it plays automatically)

Thank you. I hoped not to set the LDS community apart from other traditional Christian denominations in my postings because I absolutely respect and admire the devotion that anyone has towards their personal faith...as long as it doesn't cross the line of fanaticism, bigotry, and/or unreasonable intollerance. I appreciate your kind words.

It seems that regardless of the amount of "holes" presented in the article you still found a place to begin.

The reason I brought up the name of his church (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints) is because people often think that Mormons and Latter-Day Saints are two separate things. When people realize that the name of the church is different than what they had thought then they may be able to see things differently, perhaps. I implied nothing towards the "correctness" of Romney's religion based on the name. That's something YOU have inferred all by your self.

I absolutely believe that there has NEVER been a more Christ-like person to run for office of President in the last 100 years than Mitt Romney. It's a personal opinion that I find to be extremely hard for anyone to disprove since there's no way for me to prove my stance.

If you REALLY think that Mormons are non-Christian then it's absolutely safe to say that you have NO IDEA what it means to be "Christian". Allow me to do the work for you and submit to you what it truly means to be a Christian:

Christianity literally means...

- of, pertaining to, or derived from Jesus Christ or His teachings: a Christian faith.

- of, pertaining to, believing in, or belonging to the religion based on the teachings of Jesus Christ.

- exhibiting a spirit proper to a follower of Jesus Christ; Christlike.

- decent; respectable.

- human; not brutal; humane.

- a person who exemplifies in his or her life the teachings of Christ.

[feel free to check out the rest of the Christian definition...http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/Christian]

I beg you to give me one example where the Mormon church has been involved with politics (for years)! Just because a Mormon is running does not mean the LDS Church is becoming a political machine. They do not endorse individuals nor do they endorse political parties. Hmmmmm, is this all making sense?

You seem to have your mind made up about Mormons, which is fine. You're more than welcome to your opinions, but I think you're being pretty intollerant towards Mormons being Christian. You don't agree with Mormon doctrine then that's your choice...but try not to castigate an entire group of people who ardently follow the teachings of Jesus Christ and even bare his name in the official name of their church.

This article is so full of holes it's almost impossible to know where to begin.

You said: The actual name of the church he attends is: The Church of Jesus-Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Personally, I can’t think of one single Christian church (besides the “Church of Christ“, but that only has HALF of His name) that has the literal name of “Jesus Christ” in it besides the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints!

Huh? Just because they use the Lord's name makes them somehow... right?

You said: If the media and his opponents want to label him as “non-Christian” then they obviously haven’t a clue as to what they’re talking about because I feel that there has NEVER been more of a Christ-like person running for the office of Commander in Chief than Mitt Romney

A quick study of the Mormon faith (Kolob, sacred undergarments, men becoming Gods, etc.) will show you why Romney is a non-Christian.

You said: In fact, not even his own church (The Church of Jesus-Christ of Latter-Day Saints) has publicly endorsed him because THAT’S NOT WHAT THE MORMON CHURCH GETS INVOLVED WITH!

Wrong. The Mormon Church has surreptitiously been involved with politics for years... ever since Joseph Smith's day (Hmmmmm. Didn't he run for president also?).

You said: The LDS church has always been apolitical in everything they have done; and they’ve never actively (or financially) promoted, supported, or fought against any political party or individual politician!

See above.
