Autumn has officially ushered its way into our lives and we know this because of the calendar. The calendar does not lie! It’s not like there’s a lot of wiggle room for truth to be mired in falsehood regarding the calendar, but at least we know where we stand whenever we look at our wall calendar. Only a fool would look at a calendar on October 1st, but insist that it’s really September 21st!

If we agree that a calendar gives us information regarded as simple truths to consider and reconcile then can we also agree that the recent GOP debates have also given us information that we can regard as truth?

As it is with every election cycle (for presidential elections), the field begins as an overly crowded meet-and-greet session similar to something you might see at your local Chamber of Commerce. It’s cordial…it’s nice…it’s a way to simply get a read on the basic character of the candidates. We could also agree that the first debate is usually a complete waste of time! Once we’ve had enough time to develop a feel for the men and women on the stage, the debates start heating up and candidates begin separating from one another. It’s during this apparent separation that we usually start becoming annoyed by the fact that some candidates don’t know when to “exit stage left”! Personally, I think it has everything to do with ego instead of intelligence. I don’t think these people are stupid or simply unable to recognize that they don’t stand a chance in the primaries, but I do think that their egos are so large it becomes impossible for them to enter a room without having a carpenter on-site to build a bigger doorway! To me, this is worse than being unable to recognize their minimal chances of victory because it indicates that they see themselves as something MORE than they really are. They view themselves as MORE important than the rest of us. They think that their voice is MORE worthy of being heard than the next person’s. All in all, they just think that they are the only person in the room and insist that the reason the poll numbers aren’t favorable is because the wrong people are being polled. This is troubling, but it’s not just a GOP problem. It’s a political problem.

The thing I appreciated the most about Mitt Romney was that he bowed out (during the GOP presidential primaries in 2008) after it became obvious he wouldn’t be able to overtake McCain. Huckabee, on the other hand, stayed in the race until the very end eventhough he was less popular than a viral infection! Talk about an ego!

There are a handful of GOP hopefuls in the current battle for the nomination who need to simply GO AWAY! Why they are still knocking on doors, shaking hands, and kissing babies in order to raise campaign funds is beyond me…but I have a pretty good idea why they don’t give it up. It’s because their ego won’t let them.

With the Iowa and New Hampshire primaries only a few months away it is high-time that the field started dwindling down. The people who need to pack it up and GO HOME are: Santorum, Johnson, Ron Paul, Michelle Bachman (yes, that’s right…she needs to go home and never come back), Huntsman, and maybe Gingrich. The only reason I’m half-and-half behind the idea of pulling the plug on Newt Gingrich is because the guy truly has a tremendous amount of intelligence along with some really good ideas, but he just doesn’t have the full faith and support of the masses that he would need in order to win. I think more and more people are beginning to lean towards Gingrich, but it may not be enough and it may not be soon enough! The rest of the people I mentioned absolutely need to step down and give it a rest. No question about it.

I know that Bachman won the Iowa straw poll, but that doesn’t mean a damn thing! Besides, it’s nearly a scientific fact that the caucus voters of Iowa have a combined I.Q. of 63. I don’t know what their problem is (Iowans), but they have started a tradition of not only embarrassing themselves, but consistently picking the WRONG person! Is it possible that there is some tomfoolery going on at the caucus locations in Iowa, which would explain their mind numbing decisions? For the sake of Iowa, I actually hope that’s the case and that they’re not really as silly as they appear to be! The point here is that no one cares who won the straw poll especially if that straw poll was conducted in Iowa. Michelle Bachman is sooooo out of her depth as a presidential candidate that it actually makes me believe that my next door neighbor could do just as well. I know she’s in congress, but that doesn’t really qualify her for anything other than a name tag. If she doesn’t quit getting botox injections then her face is going to end up looking like Nancy Pelosi’s! Stop it, Michelle! Please! I love your passion and support the work you’ve done in congress, but it’s time for you to go home.

Ron Paul is an interesting man. The ideas and commentary he has regarding the current course of our country is absolutely perfect! His straight-forward approach towards the constitution and the role of government is beautiful! Everything this man says about domestic policy is nearly flawless and it’s a SHAME that every single political leader in our country doesn’t see things the same way as him. You might be wondering why I’m advocating for Ron Paul to step down and go home after I just lauded his genius understanding of government! Well…if being president meant that you only have to worry about domestic issues then Ron Paul would be a godsend. Unfortunately, there’s a lot more to the job than just domestic governance and this is where Ron Paul falls short…way short! His international policy understanding and ideas are awful and irresponsible. In fact, I would go as far to say that he is completely unbecoming an American presidential hopeful simply because of his horrid mindset regarding everything international. It’s almost painful to hear him speak on anything except for the consistution (partly because he’s so far off base and partly because his voice is excruciating and piercing). Could you really imagine Ron Paul as the American president? Can you imagine listening to his State of the Union as he whines about things he’s unable to get through congress? His high-pitched whinning is enough to disqualify him as a serious contender because there isn’t a government leader in the world who would be able to take him seriously. The best role for Ron Paul is as a presidential advisor…no doubt about it. I would personally feel incredibly comfortable knowing that he’s in the ear of the president giving him advice and steering him in the right direction. In fact, I would personally beg the next president to hire Ron Paul as an advisor if I only had the chance. I love what Ron Paul stands for and appreciate what he’s done over his lifetime, but it is time for him to pack it in and go home.

Rick Santorum seems like a principled man and I find it hard to to not like him. He comes across as an individual who would rather die on the hill of integrity than live in the valley of compromise. He has a presidential stature, but that’s about it. He simply has not been able to differentiate himself from the rest of the field and has not really proven that he’s the one person who could beat Obama. It doesn’t do him any favors that his only real leadership experience comes from being a congressman, either (which is the same problem Bachman and Paul have; no real leadership/executive experience, which is essential in my opinion). He may be a swell guy, but it’s time for him to say “bye-bye”.

Gary Johnson…well, enough said. The guy has a better chance at becoming the starting quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts than becoming president. He seems like he’s constantly lost; can’t take him seriously; has absolutely no support from any measureable demographic. It’s time (and it’s been time for a while now) for Gary Johnson to go back to wherever he came from.

Gov. Huntsman has never had a chance and I think he knows it. In my opinion, Huntsman is running for 2016 (in case Obama wins re-election) or 2020. I think he’s just trying to get his name out there so it will be a little bit easier to raise money and develop a following for the next time. It seems like he’s done a fine job as governor of Utah, but I personally think it would be pretty hard NOT to do a fine job as governor of Utah. The state legislature in Utah is solid and principled so I can’t really say that his job performance is all that impressive. How would he have done as governor of New York? New Jersey? Massachussetts? Better luck next time, governor…your time as a presidential candidate has ended. Go home!

There are three people who have not entered the race that warrant mentioning: Chris Christie, Donald Trump, and Sarah Palin. All three of these individuals are impressive and worthy of respect, but none of them deserve to be in the race. That’s right…I said it…NONE of them should enter the race! I think it’s obvious why “the Donald” should stay put in his Manhattan megapartment, but it would have been interesting hearing him in one or two of these debates. He’s just not someone we can take seriously and some of his ideas are flat out stupid (like taxing Chinese imports with a 50% tarrif…that’s just ignorant and dangerous). Chris Christie is an extremely interesting individual, but he does NOT have the body of work necessary for someone wanting to lead the free world. He’s only been governor for a couple of years and hasn’t really been able to show us what kind of political leader he would be. Sure, he’s taken on some pretty powerful labor unions in New Jersey and seems to be a guy who could care less what others think/say about him, but who is he…really? From what little I do know about him I haven’t been very impressed. I’m not convinced that he’s a conservative and I absolutely refuse to support a man who can’t convince me he’s a conservative. However, I do LOVE how he went head-on against some very crooked and powerful labor unions in order to help get his state’s finances in order. His battles with the teacher’s union are epic! Governor Christie needs to develop a track record and prove that he’s a conservative. If we leave him alone and give him time to govern New Jersey then there’s probably a good chance that in 2020 he’ll be primed and ready to take the reigns. If we step in and pressure him or insist that he runs now then the odds are heavily weighted against him that he’ll turn out like “someone else” who stepped into national politics after only a short period of state/local leadership experience. I don’t want to ruin Chris Christie because I think he has a TREMENDOUS AMOUNT OF UPSIDE and could potentially be an exceptional American president. He is wise for sitting this one out and I hope that he doesn’t cave to pressure by suddenly jumping into the race.

Sarah Palin is something that I’m glad I haven’t had to talk about very often lately. Honestly, I like Palin. I really do. I think she’s a bright, solid, and stalwart leader of conservative principles…BUT she carries a tremendous amount of baggage with her. No one in history has endured more media scrutiny (unfair media scrutiny) than Sarah Palin and I admire her for dealing with it as well as she has. I find it to be extremely disgusting to see how mean people are to her. For some reason, public figures think it’s okay and acceptable to be ridiculously vicious towards her (and her family) and I don’t know why that is!? Why does Joy Behar think it’s acceptable to call Sarah Palin vulgar and disgusting names that you’d likely only ever hear in a junior high locker room or a Spike Lee movie? It’s completely unbecoming of a human being and completely uncalled for, but it is what it is. Palin has been able to make a TON of money from her recent celebrity status, however. It’s not like she’s just a victim because she’s been able to steer all of the vitriol towards her into a marketing campaign that has helped earn her millions of dollars. I don’t feel sorry for her. Not one bit. She could step out of the lime light and fade away into obscurity if she wanted to, but instead she chooses to jump head first into the fray. She also stirs things up, but not enough to warrant the type of treatment she’s recieved. Not even close.

While I said that I respect and appreciate Sarah Palin, I have to say that I will NEVER support her should she decide to run for president. The simple fact that she QUIT after serving only half of one term as Alaska’s governor tells me that she’s not even close to being ready, nor should she be given a serious consideration. I don’t care what her reasonings behind the decision were, either. The point is moot that she was being sued for silly stuff! The fact still remains that SHE QUIT after the people of Alaska hired her to lead them! I think that Sarah Palin started to feel too big for her britches and has allowed her ego to dictate some pretty big decisions in her life. Besides, I could never vote for a person who had their own reality TV show (sorry, Donald Trump). Sarah Palin is a better fit for “The Real Housewives of Anchorage” than she ever will be for Pennsylvania Avenue. If Palin decides to jump into the race this year then I will have lost ALL respect for her. Period. She should know that she is way too polarizing to ever be elected in a general election and that the media coverage of her would be so biased that her chances would evaporate like a rain drop in the Mohave! She could potentially win the nomination, but she could never win the general. She has to know this! How could she not? If she were to win the general election and become the next president then how do we know she won’t quit after two years once things get tough? Nope. Can’t do it! I like her, but I’ll never vote for her UNLESS she were to run for Senator of Alaska, serve at least one FULL term (but I’d feel better if she served at least two terms), created a solid track record of conservatism, and quit being such a prom queen when it comes to media attention (no more reality television shows, no more books, no more exclusive Fox News contributions, etc…)! If she were able to do all of that and still be able to retain her unique identity then (and only then) I would give her my full faith and support to run for POTUS. I highly doubt she’d be able to accomplish those things. I personally feel that she’s in love with attention and enjoys making a lot of money, which I’m more than fine with. In fact, I hope she continues to make a lot of money doing what she’s been doing because she is doing an excellent job being a voice of reason for conservative ideals. She’s doing a great job vocalizing her dissent over King Obama’s insane leadership decisions! She has a bull horn bigger than anyone else’s and I hope she keeps using it. She could be a very loud and unavoidable voice for the conservative movement in the decades ahead. Please, Sarah, stay where you are and leave national politics to someone else!

The remaining names on the GOP list are: Herman Cain, Rick Perry, and Mitt Romney. Unless I’ve forgotten about someone then one of these three men will be the nominee of the Republican Party come 2012. It’s the responsibility of these three men to convince us why we should vote for them and send one of them to hopefully send King Obama to the unemployment line! Our country needs to get rid of King Obama more than anything else in recent history and we can NOT afford another four years of rudderless leadership from a quasi-socialist progressive! I honestly, truthfully believe that America will cumble (not literally, obviously) into ruins if Obama is elected to another term. His tax policies alone will be enough to send us over the edge not to mention his irresponsible desires of social engineering! We will no longer be the hope of the earth if King Obama isn’t dethroned during the election of 2012 and I’m glad I’m writing this so it will be on record. We are being steered towards social and economic destruction under the leadership of King Obama, Hairy Reid, and Nasty Pelosi…all because of their inverted top-down approach of social justice. These people are infatuated with nonsensical and radical ideas of forcing everyone to be “equal” that they are willing to destroy the fabric of America. Instead, they want us to become like Europe (as if Europe is some sort of blue print for social, economic, or political success) and the policies they have implemented and/or still want to implement are PROOF of such! I believe that Herman Cain, Rick Perry, or Mitt Romney can beat King Obama in the general election next year and I believe that either one of those men would be a TREMENDOUS UPGRADE in leadership and responsibility. King Obama is so far out of his element (he’s out of his league) as president…and, personally, I think he knows it. In fact, I think he’s known it all along! He was so underprepared to be our country’s leader…so disqualified to be the Commander in Chief…so inexperienced to lead the free world…but he ran because he saw an opening and the opportunity. It was perfect timing for him. Nothing more; nothing less. The American people were STUPID enough to buy the bullcrap he was peddling because they were simply exhausted with things in general.

Herman Cain has more intelligence and real-world experience in his left leg than King Obama has in total accumulation! On paper, Cain looks extremely attractive as a presidential candidate (nearly as attractive a candidate as Romney) and has accomplished a great many of things. His “9/9/9” tax plan is GENIUS and I’m positive that he’d be able to get it through congress should he get elected. In fact, it’s because of his “9/9/9” plan that propelled him to the top of my list! I personally think that his tax idea will be the single most effective plan ever presented by a president and will turn our current recession into a vibrant boom within one quarter! I’m dead serious, too. Politicians have no idea how seriously the current tax oppression affects our economy and citizenry. The funny thing about Cain is that liberals hate him because he’s black! They feel so offended that he’s a conservative republican instead of a clock-punching drone (i.e., liberal progressive democrat)! They think that all black people should be democrats because it’s the democrats who give them stuff. I find it ironic that the left hates Cain.

Rick Perry is somewhat of an enigma being that he’s so new to the race and doesn’t really have a public history. I’m personally uneasy with Perry for being so public with the way he worships God. In the past, I’ve always had a motto of staying far, far away from politicians who wear their brand of Christianity on their sleeve. Mike Huckabee did it and it made me sick to my stomach. There is no way I would be able to trust a man who literally used his faith in God to convince a person to vote for him. I don’t like it and it doesn’t sit well with me, but I’ll continue to give him a chance in hopes that he’ll quit using God as a political prop and instead focus on his platform and ideas. He has a lot of work to do after admitting that he thinks it’s a good idea to give state money to the children of illegal immigrants in order to attend college! If he’s serious about that then there’s no way I can support him. That’s completely assinine! He also faces the kind of challenge John Huntsman would have if he were a more competitive candidate: he’s the governor of an already solid and well-managed state…Texas. The Texas legislature is, like Utah, solid and principled. It would be kind of hard to screw things up in Texas so for him to run on the platform of being a governor of a successful state is pretty disinginuous. The only thing Perry really has (or the only thing Perry can legitimately do from here on out) is to clearly outline his ideas that would turn things around in our country and save us from the disaster that is Obama! If he’s unable to do that then he’ll end up going back to Texas to serve the remainder of his term.

Mitt Romney has the most to lose in the GOP field of nominees. He’s been the clear front-runner since King Obama took the throne in 2009 and I can only imagine the pressure he’s felt since that fateful day in January. He ran a great campaign in 2007-2008 where he pretty much came out of obscurity and burst onto the scene! His credentials are second to none, which is where his strengths are. It would seem that Mitt Romney is the closest comparison to Midas, whose touch turned things into gold. Everywhere Romney has gone and everything he has done ended up as a tremendous success, which has to put a smile on your face since he COULD be our next president! The man is ridiculously poised, well put together, extremely disciplined, and pefectly experienced to be an American president…he’s almost the ideal candidate if you think about it! The only blemish on his overall spotless and stalwart record is the Massachussetts health care law, which he passed as governor. According to King Obama, it was his (Romney’s) bill that they used as a blueprint for the great American crap sandwich that is “Obamacare”, but according to Romney they NEVER contacted him about the bill, nor did they ask him about the process it took to get it passed; according to Romney, the infamous crap burger that is “Obamacare” has significant differences, should NOT be compared to the bill he passed, and is unconstitutional to try and implement on a national level; according to Romney, the first thing he will do as president is repeal the crap stain that is “Obamacare” and not rest until it is done! That’s good enough for me! The thing people have to understand about Romney’s universal health care bill that he passed in Massachussetts is that THE PEOPLE OF MASSACHUSSETTS WANTED IT! The state legislature was hell bent on creating a state-wide health care law and nothing was going to stop them from doing it. If Romney threatened to veto then they would have simply waited until his term was over and then implemented it the day after he was out of office! So, what he ended up doing was sensible and well-reasoned…not to mention practical and judicious. He decided to go ahead and help the legislature create the most competitive and market-based health care plan possible (well, as good as one could hope to create given the circumstance and given the fact that such an idea isn’t really market-based). He was able to use his business analytical skills to devise a strategy that enabled individuals and businesses to purchase health insurance at reasonable rates. Because of Romney’s plan the state of Massachussetts is the most insured state in the country (99% of MA residents have health insurance) and during the time Romney was in charge the plan operated under budget. Since Romney has left and Duvall Patrick took over as governor, the plan has become a bloated entitlement and has become extremely expensive. Had they kept the failsafes in place and operated it responsibly then it would have ended up being a plan/idea that MA residents could be proud of. Instead, it has become a burden. It just goes to show you how poorly the management skills are with idealistic liberals. Personally, I don’t have a problem AT ALL with “Romneycare”. I really don’t! I say that for two big reasons: first, it was something that the people of Massachussetts wanted; second, it was confined inside the borders of a single state and had nothing to do with the country. It was a state solution to a state issue and Romney will be the first to say that the plan would NEVER work for the entire country! In fact, he doesn’t want anything from his former plan to ever have anything to do with the country! So, what’s the problem? Where’s the controversy? Why do so many conservatives have a problem with this? It’s not like he thought it would be a good idea to force residents of MA to purchase health insurance and also wants to do the same thing for all of Americans! It’s the exact opposite, in fact!

So, if this healthcare issue is the only thing that could be construed as negative for Romney then I think the odds are in favor of him being the man who will run against King Obama. To put things into perspective, I think the GOP could do much, much, much worse, but probably couldn’t do any better. Who’s a better all-around candidate than Mitt Romney? Who? Is Rick Perry really a more accomplished candidate (even if he sincerely believes that “you don’t have a heart” if you disagree with his plan of giving state money to illigal immigrants in order to attend college)? It was Rick Perry who took money from a pharmaceutical company and then signed an executive order forcing 12 year old girls to get vaccinated for HPV (while giving the contract of those vaccinations to the same company he took money from). Who has the highest chance of creating a controversy or scandal when in office? Romney or Perry? If my main issue is voting for someone I can trust not to get involved with a scandal and/or voting for a man who has principles evidenced by the way he has lived his life then my only (legitimate) options are Herman Cain or Mitt Romney…and I’d be happy with either of those two gentlemen! To be honest, I’d be happy with ANYONE other than King Obama and I will vote this time for WHOMEVER is running against Obama even if it’s a marble statue of Homer Simpson! I didn’t vote for president in 2008 because I refused to vote for the “lesser of two evils”. I didn’t feel comfortable voting for a horrible candidate (McCain) just because I didn’t want to vote for an even more horrible candidate (Obama). In 2008, I felt like I had to choose between a shot to the head or a shot to the chest. I try to be a principled voter because at the end of the day I have to be able to sleep at night and reconcile my decision (which I take seriously). This time around I vow to support whomever is running against Obama because I love my country and I desperately want my children to be able to enjoy their lives as they get older. If we don’t get King Obama out of office then things will spiral so far out of control that our children and grandchildren will NEVER know America the way we knew her.

The ideal situation (in my mind) would be for Mitt Romney or Herman Cain to be at the top of the ticket and Gingrich, Rubio. Christie, Paul Ryan, Mike Pence, or Santorum at the bottom of the ticket. Hell, I even think Jeb (Bush) would be a great pick as a running mate, but there still might be too much emotion connected to his last name. I like Jeb.

I sincerely believe that Herman Cain OR Mitt Romney are more than capable of turning things around in America. I believe that they’ll provide stalwart leadership (something we haven’t seen in several years), a clear path to recovery, a realistic (and drastically necessary) tax reform policy, strong military objectives, and hope. Yes, that’s right…I said it. Hope. I absolutely believe that Romney or Cain will institute hope into the hearts and minds of most Americans, which is something that is lacking amongst us all right now. It would be fair to say that we are indeed hopeless at the moment…and for good reason! Things are tough right now and people are suffering. If ever we needed hope in the last seventy-five years or so then it’s now! I look forward to President Romney’s swearing-in ceremony as the start of a new day in America.

Don’t tread on me…and God bless America!

Last weekend, selected movie theaters across the county began showing the movie, “Atlas Shrugged”.  For those not in the know, the movie is based on the MASTERPIECE written by Ayn Rand, which has been one of the highest selling fiction books of all-time!  She (Ayn Rand) wrote this book in the 1950’s and interjected a lot of her philosophy of man as well as her sentiments/beliefs on the true nature of capitalism.  Unfortunately, this happens to be a topic that is frowned upon these days.  Huge movements of aimless masses currently march in protest at various state capitals throughout the country.  Why?  Well, it basically boils down to the fact that these angry mobs of zero-liability voters are turned inside-out over the idea that they just might have to actually contribute to their own retirement and/or pension plans IF they happen to be a state worker.  In their eyes, they DESERVE the free money, high job stability, several weeks of paid vacation, excellent health/fringe benefits, and insane pension payouts!  In their eyes, they DESERVE these things MORE THAN YOU because they think that state employees (people who work for the government) are in a class of their own.  They have obviously forgotten the fact that as a public sector employee they already share a dramatically increased level of job security.  Compared to the millions of unemployed private sector employees these people are very, very lucky.  It is a crying shame that they have taken this simple fact for granted.  It’s a shame that being gainfully employed just isn’t enough for some people.  They want more!  They want more and they want YOU to pay for it.

The concepts that create the central theme in “Atlas Shrugged” are pretty simple.  Each man (man = generic pronoun for man or woman) has the ability…no, the opportunity to carve out his own destiny.  That each man has the power within himself to be as successful as he wants to be.  That a man’s property belongs solely to him and NOT to the government…or anyone/anything else…period!  Like I said, the idea behind Ayn Rand’s masterpiece is pretty simple and happens to coincide with the traditional ideas that created the “American Dream”.  It’s an obvious overstatement that every single solitary soul living in America today WILL be as successful as he or she wants to be.  Circumstance and opportunity can sometimes skip over a person or two.  We call that “bad luck“…but with that being said, the idea is sound and set upon solid foundation!  In America, we are free to reap the benefits of our hard work!  We are free to exploit our good fortune if we so desire!  In America, we are essentially free to simply be!  Well, we’re supposed to be, anyways.  My, how things have significantly changed in our country over the past 100 years especially when you measure against what the “idea” of America is supposed to…when you measure it against the “American Dream”.

Would you consider it to be tyrannical if a leader of a country gets whatever he/she wants?  During the time of the Kings, the simple philosophy was “what the King wants the King gets“.  If anyone stood in his way then God have mercy on his soul!  I think it’s safe to say that we can agree such a tactic is tyrannical.  Plain and simple.  Now, instead of the example of a King…think of the American government.  Would it be a fair statement…an accurate statement…if I said “what the government wants the government gets“?  Can you think of an instance where this wouldn’t be true here in the U.S.?  We still have eminent domain issues, class warfare (generated by politics), and a lopsided progressive tax policy which punishes one’s success!  Think of the mountains of obstacles standing in your way if you simply want to start your own small business!  Hell, there’s actually a pretty good chance that you won’t be ALLOWED to engage in business activities let alone actually start your own company if you don’t jump through every hoop the government puts in front of you!  I think it would be safe to say that if you sat down and thought about it then you wouldn’t be able to think of very many things IN YOUR OWN LIFE that the government doesn’t have their fingers in.  Is this right?  Is this what the Americans of the 1700’s had in mind when they violently fought for the right to be left alone?  Oh…I would love to sit down and have a conversation, right now, with George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and the likes!  I would love to hear what they would have to say about the state of our union.

Atlas Shrugged is a masterpiece because it reminds us of the simplicity that is the “American way”.  There is a dark side of the book that requires the reader to reason with, too.  The darkness of the book is based on the fact that major industrialists, capitalists, businessmen, and individuals simply give up.  There is no confrontation even remotely similar to the Boston Tea Party in the book.  There is no violent uprising and there certainly aren’t any rallies or protests found in any state capital or public square!  Instead, the heroes of the book initially surrender and give up.  At first, this makes the reader wonder what the heck is going on.  It makes the reader reason with what he/she knows is right compared to what Ayn Rand is writing about.  It makes the reader, perhaps, even deal with a bit of depression!  The major industrialists and entrepreneurs of America are under assault by the federal government by way of legislation that makes it illegal to make “too much profit” (The Equalization of Opportunity Act) or for one person/company to own more than one business (the Anti Dog-Eat-Dog Rule).  The government eventually singles out the entire state of Colorado because (in the book) there is a surplus of success, opportunity, and profits coming from that state.  The way they, the government, sees it is IF they can simply bring the industrialists down…bring the entire state of Colorado down…then the rest of America won’t feel so bad because now everyone will be equal.  The reaction of the industrialists to these tyrannical acts of legislation is to throw their hands up…surrender…quit…and just go away.  They leave eveything behind.  They simply vanish.

Like I said, at first, the reader has to contend with the notion that the heroes of the story are giving up rather than standing up and fighting the good fight.  As the reader progresses through the story, however, he/she becomes aware of the strategy behind their acts of surrender…and it’s genius!

Imagine, just for a second, that the founders/CEO’s of companies like MicroSoft, Apple, Haliburton, Wal-Mart, and Exon-Mobil closed their doors, burned their stores to the ground, fired everyone, and then vanished into thin air.  What would the plausible scenario be IF something like this were to happen?  We all complain about companies like these from time to time…we belly-ache about how big they are or how much money they make…don’t we?  Well, what if they all closed shop tomorrow?  Would the general economic impact be positive or negative?  I don’t think it takes an economist to understand the likely scenario (aftershock) in this hyperbolic situation.

We need to remember WHY these companies are as big and successful as they are!  It’s not because of luck, but rather because of hard work, excellent leadership, and a capitalistic mindset guiding them towards the goal of higher profits and better products.  Why do we want to punish this?  Why have we allowed the government to live so far outside of its means that it feels the only thing left to do is to pile on and punish the successful portion of our society/economy?  This is one of the reasons why “Atlas Shrugged” is one of the most widely published books (fiction) of all time!  It’s because the story in the book speaks to us!  We see these things actually going on around us…right now!  The government is growing more and more tyrannical and the masses are growing more and more dependent.  This, my friends, is NOT right.  This is NOT how it’s supposed to be!  WE ALL KNOW THIS TO BE TRUE!  Yet, we continue to allow things to get worse.  We allow the government to get away with things that make us sick to our stomach because the government has done a successful job making you feel as if there’s really nothing you can do about it.  We have collectively grown into a complacent society that is way too dependent upon “The Man”.  Throughout history, this has never been a successful scenario for the people of such a nation.  NEVER!

Ayn Rand is an unapologetic capitalist and many of the characters in her book, Atlas Shrugged, reflect such a sentiment.  To some, this may feel…or sound…like a bad thing.  It may simply be a mindset (overtly capitalistic) that rubs the wrong way.  These are all “feelings”, however.  Feelings are personal and don’t affect anyone other than you.  Capitalism, in its untarnished and unfettered form, is superior to all other forms of governance or policy.  The reason this is true is because of what capitalism does…at its core!  It makes the individual stronger!  It makes the individual the leader of his/her own life and because of that the individual is a strong entity.  Capitalism focuses on the individual, BUT when individuals become strong they become a strong collective society.  Capitalism tries to nudge…to push…to propel people upward and onward; it tries to bring people up!  The antithesis of capitalism (which is a planned society or some form of socialism) strives to bring people DOWN so they’re all the same.  It’s easier to bring people down into equality compared to bringing them up.  It takes hard work to really allow capitalism to establish roots in a society.  It’s much easier to give power to an elected group of bureacrats in order to make decisions for us.  The easy way is usually NOT the right way.

The American Left (democrats, socialists, progressives, communists, etc…) does NOT want you to read “Atlas Shrugged”.  The American Left does NOT want you to see the movie, either!  Why?  Because they don’t want you to remember!  They don’t want you to be influenced by things that ring true at your core!  Because they don’t want to give up control.  They don’t want to work hard and they certainly don’t want to leave things up to you…the individual.  They don’t want you to see this movie so badly that they made it damn near impossible for the movie to be made!  There are no big-name producers attached to this film; there are no big-name actors involved with the movie; there wasn’t a lot of capital available for the film to be made!  The producers of this movie had a shoestring budget (as far as movies go and compared to the norm) and zero support from Hollywood, yet they still made the movie!  In fact, they did a pretty damn good job, too.

As a person who sees a lot of movies (really, I see A LOT of movies), I feel like my eye for acknowledging good or bad film making is pretty darn accurate.  I can easily spot when a movie was poorly put together or, on the other hand, masterfully created.  I’m not going as far to say that the movie Atlas Shrugged was masterfully put together, but I am willing to say that it was very well made.  It was actually much better than I thought after I learned that the movie didn’t even have a budget of $10 million!  I can easily say that I was pleasantly surprised with nearly every facet of the film.  Sure, there were things that I think could have been done better and there were parts of the book that I wished they would have implemented better into the movie…but all in all, it was a really good film.  It’s not an action movie so don’t expect to be riddled with excitement and shifting plots or dramatic climax moments.

I wish they would have spent more time on the dialogue in the movie and made it more like the narrative of the book.  I wish they would have implemented more of Rand’s philosophy into the conversations between characters.  Like I said, however, there are things I would have done differently, but I can’t complain.  I’m very proud of the production team who put the movie together and I truly hope that the movie turns a profit so they’ll feel compelled to make parts 2 and 3.  I hope freedom-loving Americans will get off of their couches and go see this movie in order to support the film maker, but also to send a message that this genre has an interested market.

Who is John Galt?

President Obama has been far from bashful when it comes to the practice of unorthodox (and un-Ameirican) methods under the guise of Executive Branch authority.  His entire presidency, thus far, has comprised of unprecedented actions which have never before been seen under an American sky since the inception of our great nation.  Whether it involves buying ownership equity positions in private institutions or bad-mouthing our country on foreign soil, he really wasn’t kidding when he said that he would work hard to change the fabric of our country.

Well, shame on you (if you were one of the water-heads who voted for him) for never insisting an explanation regarding exactly what kind of “change” he meant while on the campaign trail!  Shame on you, America!  Because now you’re (we’re) all getting exactly what you (we) deserve when you (we) don’t take voting seriously!

President Obama has quietly amassed a small army of radical soldiers to serve in an unprecedented capacity labeled as “Czars”.  These people are free from the horrible process of congressional approval, free from being questioned regarding thier past/current ideas on very important subjects, and free from answering to congress (or the people) as they answer only to the president!  Is this just a way for Obama to give his radical pals a high-paying government job with ridiculous benefits or is this bigger than that?  Is this a way for us to peak inside the mind of the mysterious Barack Obama and get a glimpse of what his true thoughts and opinions are regarding so many vital and important issues that plague our country?  Remember, we still don’t really know too much about our sitting president, which is not only frightening, but downright irresponsible (of us)!  Again…I say SHAME ON YOU, AMERICA, for never insisting upon an explanation when we had the chance!  Now we’re going to get radical wee-minded ideas and programs shoved down our throats for the next three and a half years.

You might be thinking: ahhh, shucks…it’s only four years; we’ll be able to get this joker out of office in 2012 and replace him with a Reaganesque type of person to not only fix all of the many disasters Obama put us into, but also set us up for the next twenty years!

True, in order to get Ronald Reagan we had to suffer through Jimmy Carter.  Holding our breath until 2012 and surviving an Obama presidency may be what we unfortunately needed in order to see the brilliance of a person like Mitt Romney or Newt Gingrich, but you’re fooling yourself if you think that Obama’s many social expiriments won’t have a long-lasting negative impact on our nation for years, if not decades, to come!  No mistake comes without consequences.  The consquences of having been fooled by Obama’s impressvive campaign marketing program (in order for him to get elected) WILL have lasting effects and could even include widespread economic disaster that takes years to recover from.  Inflation, for example, is not somethig that simply goes away after it’s reared its ugly head!  If you want proof about what I’m saying here then look no further than the lasting effects of FDR’s presidency…or should I say “reign”!  Nearly seventy years AFTER the FDR administration and we’re still being bitch-slapped with the ill-minded social expiriments of his day.  Social Security, which was supposed to be a volunteer social program only for those who wanted to be a part of it has now grown into the biggest, most corrupt Ponzi Scheme in the history of the world!  For anyone who really knows what a Ponzi Scheme is, you’ll understand what I’m saying.  All Americans are now forced to participate, but some Americans are treated worse than others…just ask small businesses who have to pay TWICE as much SS tax compared to an individual worker!  What started out as a voluntary 1% tax to fund the Social Security Fund has grown into a forced tax of 6.5% for individual workers or 13% for small business owners!  Everything…and I do mean EVERYTHING…that the federal government has laid their ugly hands on has become corrupt and laden with beaurocracy to the point of ridiculous amounts of inefficiencies.  I don’t have any verified data on this next statement I’m about to make, but I would bet that at least 90% of all government-run programs are either in the red (bankrupt/insolvent), horribly inefficient, demographically unfair (racist), and/or ridiculously oppressive (just ask a small business owner)!  Why in the hell would we even consider the notion of having government-run health care when their track record is God awful?  America better wake up or we’ll find ourselves trapped in the clutches of a “Nanny State”…from cradle to grave.

All of this woeful action is only heightened by our current president’s initiative to create an army of unaccountable and radical soldiers.  Past administrations have always had a “Drug Czar”, whose job it was to lead the efforts in America’s drug war.  The job, in and of itself, was really nothing more than a glorified press secretary because he/she really didn’t have too much power and still had to answer to the president, who had to answer to congress and the American people.  Time, however, has made it easier for the Drug Czar to create policy suggestion, spend ample amounts of money, and amass small bits of power from one year to the next.  The idea of having a Drug Czar kind of made sense to most Americans and no one really rejected the notion of having someone whose job it was to combat illegal drug activities on a daily basis.

President Obama, however, has taken this idea TO THE EXTREME with his unbelievable (yet, highly predictable) conglomeration of personal henchmen, whom he likes to call “Czars”.  To all of our surprise, he hasn’t just created four or five extra “Czar positions”, but rather FORTY!  Keep in mind that none of these people have to be vetted by congress or approved!  They’re just appointed, given a salary, and told what to do by the president.  They only answer to the president, too.  Scary?  Hell yes!  Orwellian?  Absolutely!

Just to make a point, one of Obama’s recently created Czars includes a fanatical radical who goes by the name of: Mark Lloyd.  His title?  Chief Diversity Officer.  His job?  To get private broadcasting stations (radio) to pay a 100% tax on their individual operating budget in order to fund public broadcasting stations.  What if the private broadcaster happens to run programs of a conservative political viewpoint?  Well, if they don’t antie up with the tax then they would recieve a mind-blowing $250 million fine!  FORGET THE “FAIRNESS DOCTRINE” BECAUSE THAT IDEA IS SO 2008!  The Obama administration is trying to enact a crippling blow to conservative radio through a back door venture of dyabolical proportions and his tool will be through the service of this newly appointed “Chief Diversity Officer“, Mark Lloyd, who will be given access to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and have influence in any new and existing programs.  Wow.

People…this is not going to be the last time Obama tries to bull his radical ideas through our country.  It certainly isn’t the first time, either.  As mentioned earlier, Obama has amassed 40+ “Czars” to silently articulate radical and Orwellian programs into law.  Also, instead of appointing level-headed individuals who share the same opinions as average Americans, Obama is appointing absolute fanatics and some of them have a track record that would make most felons blush!  Suddenly, Americans have found themselves in a position where they simply don’t have any choice in the matter…for at least the next three and a half years.  Congress has shown that they have no intention on listening to the American people even when polls show that the majority of Americans no longer support “Obamacare”, which this writer believes would be tantamount to accepting a socialist (or even fascist) mission statement for our country.  Could there be any more proof that Obama is looking to completely transform America into an extension of the European Union…and beyond?  How much more proof does the American people need before they realize that they elected an egotistical power-hungry ursuper who would like nothing more than to become “Dictator-in-Chief” rather than Commander-in-Chief?!

I am prayerfully opining to the heavens above that the American people as a whole will be wise enough to swallow their pride when the mid-term elections of 2010 come knocking.  I’m even more prayerfully desperate that the American people as a whole will wise up when it comes time to kick Obama out of the White House in 2012.  Pride can be a deadly and dibillitating ailment, thus making it very difficult to get rid of.  I’m hopeful, however, that Americans throughout the country will recognize that the “change” Obama was preaching during the campaign of 2007-2008 is 100% opposite of what America is made of.  I humbly submit that we needed (and desperately still need) a change in Washington because it was clear that things were getting out of control (evidenced by a congressional approval rate of single-digits…9%, which is so much more than merely embarrassing) with no signs of getting better.  With promises of transparency, openess, no more business as usual, ethical leadership, and “real change”, the only thing we’re getting from an Obama administration is “real change”.  The thing that stings is that the kind of change we’re getting from Obama is the kind of change that would even make most Europeans, Chineese, Islamists, and North Koreans uncomfortable!

We are on a track for destruction, folks.  The America that you and I grew up with is getting closer and closer to becoming completely extinct.  Our children will not be able to grow up with the types of freedoms and childish carelessness that we had, either.  Their lives, unlike ours, will be statistically measured in order to gauge a numerical value in order to fit them in to a priority list of health care importance.  I would hate to think about the odds my grandchildren will have of being medically supported should they ever contract a serious illness.  It sends shivers down my spine to think about.

I know I put myself at risk of being reported to the White House by writing stuff like this, too.  When Obama’s people (yeah, that’s right…Czars) mentioned the other day that they are encouraging Americans to “tattle” on their neighbors whenever the voice opposition to any of King Obama’s Orwellian ideas it only made me feel more emboldened to stand up, talk louder, and fight back to the bitter end.  There’s no chance that our current administration of thugs will be able to silence The Proletariat…even in the face of death…should it ever come to that.  I’d rather my children grow up fatherless and be proud of me than grow up with a father who shrunk as a man in the face of adversity when it came to fighting for America.

I would rather die on the hill of integrity than live in the vally of compromise.

Stand up, America!  Stand up before it’s too late and America is changed forever!  It is NEVER un-American to show dissent, protest elected officials, or vocally oppose government!  Up until 2008, democrats believed the exact same thing, too!  It wasn’t until Obama took control that democrats started supporting the idea that vocal dissention and protesting was “astroturf”, fake, un-American, and unnecessary.  They didn’t seem to notice that while Cindy Sheehan and her few dozen of supporters decided to encroach upon president Bush’s private life (by hunting him down during a short vacation at his ranch in Texas) there were no calls from republicans to arrest her, silence her, or to shut her up.  They let her speak and they allowed her to protest.  Hell, they just flat out gave unadulterated permission for her to embarrass herself as many times as she wanted.  No one ever demeened her actions as unAmerican because, simply put, they weren’t.  Protesting (peacefully) is pure American; something that the Left has no idea about (ref.: Dem. National Convention; Republican Convention during Bush’s years; economic summits; etc…).  I pray that Americans will NEVER be dissuaded by the attempts of leftist politicians, television reporters, or Hollywood bastards to paint a picture that protesting Obama is futile.  STAND UP, AMERICA!

– Nostromos

PS…you need proof that the Administration is trying to pull the wool over your eyes and trick you into complacency?  Just take a look at how may “celebrities” are starting to come out of the woodworks in support of “Obamacare”!  Brad Pitt just took an opportunity to rail on dissenting Americans by appearing on Bill Maher’s show.  Ashton Kutcher (the MILFer) also took the same opportunity on the same bull-crap show to do the same shameless thing.  Their intention?  To play on the emotions of millions of people who LOVE these two men (actors…let’s face it…they pretend to be other people for a living and their compensation comes directly from OUR POCKETS; who’s kidding who here?)!  America…you are being PUNKED!

Obama has certainly issued a lot of change in just four months so no one can say that he was lying on the campaign trail when he said that he’d work hard to “change things”.  No one knew, however, that his plan for “change” included a massive overhaul of the American capitalistic economy into a socialist/fascist state!  Well, some of us knew, but no one listened.  Folks, we absolutely WILL pay the price for what we have allowed to take place in 2009.  Americans are not nearly as pissed off as they ought to be and Obama, Inc. is getting away with things that have NEVER been done in our nation’s history.

Off the top of my head, I have created a list of Obama accomplishments that often go under the radar due to the massive “Obamagasm” that is taking place by our nation’s media.  No one is reporting objectively anymore and it’s serving as a major weakness for our country.  Obama has (and will) opened the flood gates and our nation will never be the same again.  I absolutely feel confident saying that the United States will no longer be considered a “super power” within ten years.  The U.S. dollar will no longer be used as a “world currency” and our debt will consume us into a second-tier nation that our children’s children will be forced to deal with.

Without further delay, I present to you the list of Obamagasm accomplishments (in just four months):

  • He bows to the King of Saudi Arabia, which is something that has NEVER before been done by a state leader.
  • Obama singularly and unilaterally dictates the marketing budget of Chrysler, which apparently makes him not only the president of the United States, but also the president of a major auto company.  This has NEVER EVER been done before in our nation’s history, but apparently it is Obama’s desire to accomplish a lot of “first-time-events” as evidenced by his first four months as Chairman of the United States.
  • His very first interview as president was on Al Jazeera…another first for a head of state.
  • He has increased the budget by 40% in just three months as our nation’s president; then, just one month later explains how it is “unsustainable” for America to carry as much debt as we currently are.
  • After a tax day rally held throughout the country, Obama refers to these peaceful protestors as “tea baggers”, which is a sexual inuendo…a disgusting sexual inuendo.  Nearly ONE MILLION people peacefully protested the way our government is printing and spending and taxing and they did so without even getting a parking ticket!  On the other hand, when the LEFT protests, there is usually blood in the streets, windows broken, vandalism, and anarchy.  To refer to a group of peaceful protestors as sexual perverts not only completely misses the point, but also ranks his comments as a first.  Prior to the great Obamagasm of 2009, it would have been unthinkable to degrade a large portion of American citizens as he did.
  • Obama makes fun of retarded kids on Jay Leno’s Tonight Show.   I can only imagine the reaction of the media if Bush would have said this.
  • Obama suspends the trial and prosecution of indicted terrorists who bombed the U.S.S. Cole during the Clinton administration.  There’s no explanation for this.  Apparently, King Obama was under the impression that these murderers would not be able to receive a fair trial in the U.S. so he signs an executive order to suspend and terminate the legal proceedings.  What a slap in the face of the families who lost a loved one on the USS Cole.  Wow!
  • His first “executive order” as president is to close Gitmo; never mind that he has absolutely no idea where the Islamofascists will be placed…he just signs a piece of paper that closes the prison within a year.
  • Shortly after his “executive order”, he reneges on his plans of closing Gitmo and says that there’s no where else to place the prisoners.
  • After sending billions of dollars to Chrysler and General Motors and promising that these companies were “too big to fail”, they (both companies) end up going bankrupt anyways.  There is ZERO accountability for the BILLIONS of dollars sent to these companies and (to date) no one knows what happened to said funds.  I have a pretty good feeling that those funds went directly to the the legacy costs of the precious UAW.  This mere act should be enough to cause an uprising in the streets of America!  Yet, no one in the main stream media is covering this.  NO ONE!
  • He refuses to call our current war against terrorism as “the war on terror”.  He now insists that it be called “overseas contingency operations”.  I’m not making this stuff up.
  • He forces another (massive, massive, massive) spending bill down the throats of the American people with the dire warning that if this isn’t passed then economic collapse will certainly follow.
  • The apparent emergency spending bill only ends up spending 3% of the funds in the first year.  Wait a minute…I thought it was dire for us to spend our way out of this recession (which, apparently, is worse than the depression of the 30’s)?!
  • Obama fires the CEO of Chrysler and appoints a new one (first time EVER).
  • ACORN, which could end up receiving up to $2 billion (with a “B”) in stimulus money, is conspicuously ignored when it makes complete sense to investigate the organization due to obscene fraud charges (even current members of ACORN leadership are insisting upon investigation, but to no avail).  There’s something ridiculously fishy here!
  • Obama forces AIG employees to give back their bonuses, which were contractually obligated to them (another FIRST for a head of state to step in and void a private sector contract).
  • While Obama allows for the public castigation of AIG executives and their bonus monies, he quietly allows an obscene amount of bonuses to be paid to Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae executives.  It’s no secret that at the heart of the 2008 – 2009 recession is Fannie and Freddie, but there has still been NO investigation and NO ONE has been indicted on any charges whatsoever.  Hmmm.
  • In the midst of intense economic pressure on the auto industry, Obama instills CAFÉ (Corporate Average Fuel Economy) standards on all auto manufacturers, which adds an average of $1400 additional cost to each car made.  Yeah, that makes complete sense.
  • In the midst of a Chrysler bankruptcy, Obama intervenes and places secure debt holders (primary debt holders who were contractually guaranteed repayment from liquidation in the case of bankruptcy; it’s a common and widely accept LAW that has never been broken…until now) at the bottom of the totem pole, while placing unsecured debt holders and AUTO UNIONS at the top of the totem pole.  He even gives the UAW an equity stake in the new Chrysler (Fiat) Corporation as well as Canada and the U.S. government.  This, again, has NEVER been done before.  Bond holders were told to piss off, while UAW members were given benefits on a silver platter.  Absolutely unbelievable!
  • Obama approves the equity ownership of dozens of privately held banks across the nation, thus giving the U.S. government ownership of private equity firms.  Again, this has NEVER been done before.  The preferred shares, which the treasury bought, will soon be transferred into common shares in order to clear some debt from the books of the banks involved.  Basically, Obama just nationalized banks through a back door scheme.
  • For the first time in American history, a sitting president (Obama) allows prosecution proceedings to begin on executive order/legislative approved war tactics.  He also releases the names of individuals, which obviously jeopardizes their lives.  Later, after all the public relations damage has been done, he reneges on his grand idea and decides to withhold key information.  Question: who is on the other end of his BlackBerry (which is another FIRST for any president to have a private communications device)?
  • Obama forces states to accept stimulus funds even if their state legislatures don’t want anything to do with it.  If, by chance, an individual governor finally agrees to accept the funds, but decides to use said funds to pay down state debt then Obama will force it to be used for something else.  I guess we can forget about state sovereignty now.
  • In the midst of widespread economic slowdown, the federal government has added nearly 100,000 jobs with an average salary of over $100,000.  Seems like a wise way to spend cash.
  • Money supply has increased by 6000% since the beginning of Obama’s presidency.
  • China is no longer purchasing federal treasury bonds, which is the sole way America has been funding her social programs and addiction to pork spending.
  • Obama insists that smaller, more fuel efficient cars be built, but never acknowledges the loss of life that will certainly follow.  An estimated 50,000 additional deaths will take place (yearly) on our nation’s roads due to smaller vehicles.  This is a statistic that has been proven in years past and can be easily compared with historical statistics as U.S. cars began to get bigger and sturdier.  Apparently, life isn’t nearly as important as adhering to an unproven theory of Algoreism…err, Global Warming.
  • Joe Biden publicly discloses the location of the Vice Presidential secret bunker.
  • Nancy Pelosi publicly caught in a LARGE lie, decides to claim that the CIA lied to her and lies to the American people…even after three dozen of her left wing pals admit that she’s wrong.  Nothing is being done about this and no major media outlets are covering it responsibly.  Hell, no major media outlets are daring to challenge the radical ideas and implementations of King Obama.  They’re too busy having an Obamagasm.
  • After a lengthy campaign promise of NOT raising taxes on any American family earning more than $250k, he decides to go around that promise by increasing fees and penalties on EVERYTHING else, thus raising taxes on the lower and middle taxes.
  • In order to fund his SCHIP program, Obama instills a tax on cigarettes.  Obviously, a major tax on the lower class (and a very ironic idea to fund healthcare provisions with tobacco proceeds).
  • Nearly half of Obama’s cabinet members have significant tax problems.  Nothing is done about it.  The average American would be sent to prison or forced to pay obscene penalties.
  • Barney Franks, Chris Dodd, Barbara Boxer, and Charlie Rangel have still NOT been investigated for their MAJOR infractions involving tax cheating, campaign fund illegalities, federal cover ups (Fannie/Freddie), etc…
  • The nation’s “elite” just spent eight years belittling president Bush about his “ignorance”, but nothing is said about Obama’s inability to speak publicly without the aide of his teleprompter.  He’s a bumbling douchebag when he doesn’t have his teleprompter.  Just look at the tape!  It’s obvious!
  • After eight years of bashing president Bush, the left wingers are now insisting upon the nation “coming together” and to quit engulfing themselves in petty name calling.  Wow.  If there were ever a definition of hypocrisy…right?
  • Obama wastes a quarter of a million dollars and scares millions of New Yorkers by allowing Air Force One to fly at low levels across the New York skyline…FOR A PHOTO OP!!!  Unbelievable!
  • Obama mentions in a speech that it is unsustainable for America to continue carrying as much debt as we currently are (thanks to Obama), but also says (in the same breath) that we need to overhaul our healthcare into a universal structure.  Yeah…and that’s going to be a pretty cheap piece of legislature, too.  Unbelievable.
  • The list of companies that have been bailed out continues to increase at an alarming rate.  Some of these companies apparently have NO choice in the matter of accepting bail out funds.
  • After railing on President Bush about the war in Iraq and Afghanistan, Obama signs a spending bill to continue the war efforts for another year (he signed this extension in May 2009).  Wow!
  • Obama’s Attorney General called the American people a bunch of cowards during a press conference.  The issue was regarding racism.  Right…after we elect a semi-black man to be president we now have a black A.G. calling all of us racist cowards.  Nice.
  • During a time of great ecological upheaval and riotous rhetoric concerning the validity of the science of said issue, Obama ushers in the idea of “cap and trade” carbon tax.  This isn’t as bad as some people may indicate because at least (finally) Obama is issuing in something that will function as a market (although there will be a tremendous amount of government involvement, which defeats the purpose, but what do you expect from a socialist/fascist administration?).  The black-eye of this entire situation is the fact that GE (General Electric) is the lobbying interest behind this cap and trade idea.  Jeffery Immelt (the CEO of General Electric, which is the parent company of several news media outlets…a HUGE conflict of interest to be involved with legislation and to control media coverage of said legislation…no wonder Americans aren’t nearly as pissed off as they ought to be) has been in Obama’s ear for the past five months pleading his case for cap and trade legislation because GE stands to make BILLIONS and BILLIONS of dollars through this legislative nightmare.  If this were Haliburton then people would be kicking and screaming louder than an audience during a Sean Penn movie!  Where are the corporate vigilantes?  Where are the masses of left wing protestors who just spent eight years pissing and moaning about a conspiracy between the Bush administration and “Big Oil”?  Again, this is the pinnacle of hypocrisy.
  • Obama allows his Secretary of Homeland Defense to classify returning war veterans as “high probable domestic terrorists”.  This is beyond ridiculous!  Obama also allows his “whiz girl” Sec. of Homeland Defense to classify individuals as “potential domestic terrorists” if they portray the Gadsden Flag on their private property (for those who don’t know what the Gadsden Flag is, it’s the yellow flag with a coiled rattle snake set above an historical quote “Don’t Tread On Me”, which dates back to the Revolutionary War).  Sheesh.
  • Barney Franks is literally sleeping with the guy who manages/runs/operates (the CEO) Fannie Mae during the time where Fannie Mae was growing out of control with Mortgage Backed Securities and issuing “give away” loans to individuals classified as “high risk” (all done out of the idea of political correctness, perceived fairness, and racism).  To date, there has been NO investigation into Barney Franks or his incredible conflict of interest!  Hell, he was literally having gay sex with the CEO of the company that serves as the epicenter of our economic meltdown!
  • Obama goes on record as saying that Palestine deserves a state at the expense of Israel and it’s clear that the protection of Israel is very low on his priority list.
  • In May of 2009, Obama discusses the idea of limiting executive pay for ALL industries regardless if they accepted TARP or Stimulus funds.
  • After promising Americans that he will put an end to lobbyists having access to administration officials, Obama hires several lobbyists to serve in cabinet level positions.
  • Nearly $900 Billion is earmarked in the much hyped “Stimulus Bill” as pure pork, which is another thing that Obama promised Americans he would put an end to.  Isn’t it odd that we were told how dire and critical it was to pass the Obama stimulus bill, but when it was finally passed we saw that a ridiculous amount of money was being spent on legislative “pet projects” that are completely unnecessary…not to mention that only 3% of said funds would even be spent in the first fiscal year.  I thought it was critical to get this bill passed?  Keep in mind that it was physically IMPOSSIBLE for ANY of our nation’s legislators to have actually read the bill before passing it.  Absolutely unbelievable!
  • Jeffery Immelt is currently serving as Obama’s director of the Economic Recovery Team.  Tom Daschle is currently serving GE as the director of their new “Healthymagination” initiative, which is the main thrust behind cap and trade legislature.  Can you say “collusion” or “conflict of interest”?  I thought liberals were against corporations having too much control?  Obama also extended $140 billion to GE Capital, Inc.  Hmmm!

I hope everyone is able to read the details of what’s presented in this list and consider the consequences that may follow down the road.  No one is thinking beyond the next election, but the simple sad truth is that we can’t wait until the next election to rise up and challenge the ridiculousness that is going on in Washington D.C.!  You can’t say I didn’t tell you so!  In just four months, Obama has managed to do more harm to our country than any president in the history of our great country.  The constitution literally hangs by a thread and is no longer regarded as our governing document, but rather as a list of recommendations or out of date ideas.

Folks, the time to act is NOW!  Our leadership in D.C. is completely out of control and the consequences will be felt for decades if we don’t rise up and do something about it…NOW!

Thomas Jefferson once said: “If the people fear the government then that is tyranny; if the government fears the people then that is liberty”.  In your opinion…who fears who right now?  Are we engulfed in tyranny or liberty?

Don’t Tread On Me!!!

This is an interesting anecdote of the times we currently live in.  Every day…things seem to get bleaker and darker.  Yet, we’re not nearly as pissed off as we ought to be.  Wise up, America!

Several years ago I was supervising a beginning teacher in a city school system. One day during our end-of-the-day feedback conference, the young man gave a facial grimace and began to rub his back. I asked him if he had strained his back in the school lab. After a long period of silence, he sat down at his desk and explained that he had immigrated to the United Statesbecause of political problems in his native country. The discomfort in his back was caused by a bullet wound he had received while fighting the Communists who were trying to take over his country’s government. He was then a member of the underground nationalist force. Then he asked me a surprising question: “Dr. Hedges, do you know how to catch a wild hog?” The question was completely out of context regarding the day’s classroom and lab teaching. I replied, “I’m not sure what you are talking about. Tell me.” “First,” he said, “you find out where the wild hogs are roaming and feeding and then you put some corn out in the field. Soon they will come to eat the corn. You keep putting out the free corn. More wild hogs keep coming to eat the corn.” So what?” I said. “That’s normal for any animal.”“He said. “After the hogs get used to your free corn, you put up a length of fence along one side of the feeding area. The hogs get used to it. You keep giving them the corn. Then you put up another section of fence at right angles to the first. You keep giving them the corn. The hogs get used to the second fence. Then you put up another length of fence at right angles to the second section. You now have a U-shaped fenced area. The hogs get used to that section of the fence. You keep giving them free corn. Then you put another section of fence with a gate in it, making a closed area except for the gate. You keep giving them corn. Now, the hogs no longer are out in the fields, working to find their own food. They keep coming into the area to eat the free corn. They get used to the fenced area with the open gate. Then, one day you slam shut the gate when the hogs are inside the fenced area. The wild hogs are caught – they are your prisoners.” I understood then that the wild hogs were really the people of his native country and that the free corn was the enticements that the Communists were giving to the people.“That’s correct,” the young man said. “Now, the hogs will not get anything to eat unless you give them food. You are in control. They depend on you to feed them, or they will starve. They can’t get out into the fields and forests anymore to find their own food. They have probably forgotten how, as it is. They are your servants, your prisoners. They must obey you. Or else they starve. “The hogs,” he said, “were so accustomed to having the free corn, that they ignored the building of the fences that would eventually trap them. When the gate slammed shut, it was too late for them to realize what they had been blind to. The free corn was enticing, so effortless to obtain, but eventually the cause of their loss of freedom. The fence had been built; the gate had been shut.” At this point in our conversation, the young teacher loudly exclaimed, “This is what I see happening in America today! People are being offered free corn by the government. People are being blind to the fences being built around them by the liberals – the socialists – and that is what frightens me! Just like it was happening in my homeland. The American people do not learn from history. And history shows that socialism/communism does not work. Take note ofRussia . Has socialism been the best thing that ever happened to that country? Absolutely not! But socialism is what the American people are being fed, and they don’t realize it. All they can focus on is the ‘free corn.’ They want more and more of the free corn. And this free corn is being fed to us little by little, and soon the gate will slam shut. I am very frightened, and also amazed, that the American people don’t see what is being fed us, and for what purpose.” With that said, the young man sat down at his desk and continued to rub his painful back. And I was silent in my chair. For I could visualize the supposedly “free corn” being fed to our nation’s people and our growing addiction to the “free corn”. And I could see the gate being slammed shut. We, the people of the United States of America , because of our ignorance of history, because of our addiction to the supposedly “free corn,” could soon be prisoners of liberal socialism. “Wake up, America ! The fences are being built! Don’t you see what is happening to us?” In the agenda of Congress, there is much “free corn” being promised the American people. In our greed for this “free corn,” will we ignore the incremental building of the fences and the inevitable shutting of the gate? As I ponder the building of the fences, I remember the old adage, There is always free cheese in a mousetrap.”

Recently, President Barrack Hussein Obama made an unprecedented decision to explore any and all legal action against former president, George W. Bush (as well as his staff and advisors) for alleged illegal forms of interrogation tactics.  President Obama is very clearly outlining his legal action as an opportunity to adopt a trans-national legal system, which is supposed to increase the morality of our great nation.  In his historically unprecedented decision to seek legal judgments against a former president, Obama is attempting to define “torture” as anything that makes the subject uncomfortable (be it mental, emotional, spiritual, or physical).

The good thing about having a president who is more concerned about the well-being of America’s sworn enemies than allowing our soldiers (and various civil servants) access to information-gathering techniques is that it opens up a plethora of opportunities for us (the common man) to seek reparations when confronted with the following torture tactics:

1 – if your wife is yelling, nagging, or pestering you in a manner that causes any discomfort…
2 – if your boss ever belittles you (privately or publicly)…
3 – if you are one of the primitive parents who spanks their small children or isolates them by using the highly tortuous technique known to millions of emotionally terrorized children as “time out”…
4 – if you ever watch (intentionally or by force) Countdown With Kweith Oldermann…
5 – if your wife emotionally terrorizes you by withholding adequate sexual companionship…
6 – if police officers humiliate you by pulling you over for a traffic violation in front of anyone who might recognize you…
7 – if your children’s school teacher assigns your child too much homework that leads to sleep depravation…
8 – if you are ever forced to go to work because your inconsiderate boss insists upon you busting your butt for at least 40 long, hard hours per week, but NEVER asks if you’d rather be doing something else…
9 – if your in-laws ever stop by for a visit (announced or otherwise)…
10 – if you are refused the level of compensation you feel comfortable with…

…then CHIN UP!!!  There’s HOPE for you that you can certainly believe in!  Our glorious president has found it wise to punish those who would attempt to make your life a living hell and he’s prepared to go all the way for you!  No longer will you have to live at the beck and call of bosses, wives, police officers, or parents!  If it can be somewhat proven (and the ACLU, in conjunction with ACORN, has let it be known that they will be more than happy to prove it for you…for a nominal tax-deductible contribution) that you have been subjected to ANY form of torture (as defined by Pres. Obama) then, my friend, you will be entitled to:

– free stimulus checks for life (tax-free up to the point where you are no longer “rich”…which is also defined by Pres. Obama).
– your choice of torture-free punishment to be inflicted upon the terrorists who terrorized you.
– a front row, middle aisle seat to no more than THREE of President Obama’s famous Town Hall meetings (so long as you don’t block the teleprompter).
– an arm wrestling match and subsequent “hip-hop abs” sessions with First Lady, Michelle Obama.
– a spiritual face-to-face sit down (and free lunch…provided by the tax payers) with Pres. Obama’s mentor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright.
– a guest appearance on Oprah and The View.
– a one-year unrestricted pass to classified government documents (which you may or may not decide to give to Sandy Berger…it’s completely up to you…no one’s forcing you…).
– an opportunity to get drunk with Bo (The First Dog) just before dinner, which could be redeemed for an all-night drinking and hooker-killing extravaganza with the Lion, Ted (hiccup) Kennedy.
– an opportunity to bowl against the in-house Obama bowling team, which consists of twelve door-knob humping Special Olympics gold medalists.
– an all expense paid trip to nine Muslim countries with the president where you will be obliged to join in on some good old fashioned America bashing (as long as you bow before all of the kings of the region as well as french-kiss their hands first).
– an obligatory opportunity to break dance (live) on the Ellen Degeneress Show (as well as an obligatory make-out session afterwards).
– a chance to teach the Obama children about what it means to NOT be proud of your country.
– a trip (by virtue of an Army Fighter Jet…with escorts…and as many friends as you care to bring with you) to Tennessee where you will be able to live as Al Gore for one full day including access to all of Gore’s houses, boats, planes, and earth-saving business secrets (including the secret of how to make millions of tax-exempt dollars under the guise of global warming prevention).  NOTE: you will not be granted access to Gore’s secret facility where he is still working on perfecting his little invention…the internet.
– a three night, two day trip to anywhere in the world with former president Bill Clinton where you will be able to do anything you want to any female you choose (as long as she is slightly over weight or could be mistaken for a man).
– become Timmy Geithner’s “tutor of the day” where you will read (aloud) to him any economics book you choose!
– be allowed to participate on next season’s “The Biggest Loser” with Janet Napolitano as your partner.
– personally welcome the next 100,000 illegal immigrants with a hand shake, gift card to Applebee’s, and free membership to the ACLU.
– and become the next CEO of the company of your choosing (as long as you can agree to a base salary of $1 per year with no bonuses).

Now, that’s some change you can believe in!  Only in America!

So, tonight I dredged through the trenches of urban movie-watching in the greater New York City area.  I was simply in search of some good cinematic entertainment where I could kick back, relax, and allow myself to be taken away for a couple of hours.  You see, for me, watching movies is a total hobby.  I enjoy it much like other people enjoy golfing or shopping.  Don’t get me wrong…I love swinging my sticks on the fairways as much as the next guy, but I really enjoy watching movies.  Most of the movies I watch are by myself, which most people find odd, but it makes complete sense to me.  I enjoy the down time and I enjoy the escape.  No need to laugh out loud at every perfectly written quip just to let the person next to me know that I fully understood the humor.  No, I get to enjoy the films for what they really are: ENTERTAINMENT

I feel that I have the art of movie-watching down to a science.  Screen-writers need to really be on their “A game” if they’re going to impress me and cinematographers, editors, actors, as well as directors are extremely easy to sniff out if they’re a hack.  Those who know me know that if I recommend a movie then it’s a safe bet that other people should be able to enjoy it.  I have great taste in movies and I absolutely do NOT fall for the hook, line, and sinker comments from so called “professional movie critics” who try to tell us that “Brokeback Mountain” was one of the best movies ever!  In order to maintain my level of amateur movie criticism, I need to be able to WATCH the film.  When viewing a film in any of our country’s numerous urban areas, just being able to WATCH a movie is easier said than done….which begs the question: is being able to really enjoy a movie in urban-America a developed talent or a God-given ability?

I decided to watch the recently released Bernie Mac/Samuel Jackson movie, Soul Men.  It’s featured as a comedy/musical, which I thought would be a stretch if Samuel Jackson was starring in it.  There’s only so many roles an angry rich black man can play…and comedic roles usually aren’t the ticket.  I will admit that I was pleasantly surprised by Mr. Jackson’s acting, but it was quite obvious that he was well outside of his comfort zone by being in a movie that was quite litterally a complete knee-slapper!  Bernie Mac (God rest his sole) was a genius in this film!  His natural antics were allowed to flow freely, which was a clever move by the director.  I really, really enjoyed the movie…but I wonder how much more I would have enjoyed it had I been able to actually HEAR the damn movie!

Now, I’m going to make a few quantitative statements in order to set the scene and as God is my witness, all of them are absolutely accurate (as close as they can be without exaggerating):

In the theater, I was the only white person (literally).

There were at least 100 people in the theater for the duration of the film.

There were at least a dozen people who entered the theater, walked around, chatted, then left.

There were at least five children under the age of four years old (and this was a faily vulgar film, mind you).

There were at least four cell phone interruptions during the duration of the film.

There were at least four cell phone conversations that followed the cell phone interruptions (I kid you not).

There was at least one argument between a boyfriend/girlfriend (pimp/ho…ha ha ha, just kidding) that literally went on during the movie.

I was “patted down” after I moved through a metal detector to get into the theater.

There was only TWO employees working the concession stand, which had a line consisting of at least twenty-five people (the other employees were folding boxes, sweeping floors, talking on cell phones, etc…).

I fully understand the danger in allowing oneself to become succeptable to embracing stereotypes as truth because, for the most part, stereotypes are generalizations of a large group of people that are not always true.  In the case of urban movie-watching, however, the stereotypes are all 100% true!  This, of course, would imply that there no longer exists a stereotype in these regards…which I whole heartedly agree with.  Making the following statement (as generalized as it is) is no longer available to be labeled as a stereotype: black people can not watch a movie without being loud, abnoxious, inconsiderate, and rude.  It is almost as if it is completely against their genetic code to simply sit down and quietly watch a movie…or at least allow the other movie-goers to enjoy the movie.  This is NOT the first time I have observed this rude phenomenon while watching a movie in an urban area.  In fact, I can honestly say that I have NEVER watched a movie in an urban area without shaking my head in utter disbelief at some moment during the film.  Because I have been involved in so many sampling opportunities in order to fully concoct an opinion it is extremely easy for me to say that black people have no regard for anyone other than themselves…when inside the movie theater.  It’s clearly a cultural phenomenon!

Because it is evident that this is no longer a “stereotype” due to the large amounts of experience I have had then it is also safe to say that these statements and observations are in no way, shape, or form to be considered as racist.  Acknowledging the absolute truth does not make one a racist.  Ignoring it does.  It is an absolute truth that said stereotype does not exist.

It can also be said that trying to watch a movie in a theater filled with junior high school students would be equally as disappointing and annoying.  I’m not at all claiming that black people are the only group who makes watching movies a pain in the ass.  There’s just way too many experiences in way too many cities across our country (Dallas, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York City, Philladelphia, Baltimore, Louisville,  Indianapolis, etc…) to ignore the commonality that exists.  IN EVERY SINGLE LOCATION WHERE AT LEAST 90% OF THE MOVIE AUDIENCE WAS BLACK IT WAS THE EXACT SAME…IMPOSSIBLE TO ENJOY THE MOVIE WITHOUT DEALING WITH HOOTING, HOLLERING, CLAPPING, CELL PHONES, OUTLANDISH LAUGHING, CHITTER-CHATTER, AND SO ON AND SO FORTH…

For the life of me, I can’t understand the disrespect (which is how I personally see it…disrespect).  It doesn’t make sense to me, but then again, I’m not black.  I can joke about this with my black friends and they are all in unison with my sentiments, but none of them seem sympathetic in the least.  None of them can explain it, either.  It truly is a cultural phenomenon that pisses me off.

Maybe Barack Obama can save us from this misery, too?  After all, he is the Annointed One!

First, allow me to give this year’s “Most Embarrassing Human” Award to the following person:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XtJyrBDj39M

If this doesn’t scare the living daylights out of you or at least make you shake your head in relative embarrassment and shame then there’s a good chance you’re consistently dipping your cup into the punch bowl!  I’m not saying that Obama won the election because he literally promised communism to the sweltering middle-class, but I am making a point that maybe he won a few states because there was a healthy population of people who literally suffer from “Obamafication” (i.e., those who literally believe that Obama will touch them and heal them from all of their woes…and duties…and responsibilities).  I know that it’s impossible to assume that this tragedy of a woman (Peggy) is alone in her idea of Barry Obama (let’s face it…Barry sounds much better than Barack).  It’s nearly obvious to assume through sheer statistical probability that there are others out there who feel the way our dear, sweet Peggy feels.  The only question is: how many?

Now that we’ve got the “Most Embarrassing Human” Award out of the way, allow me to be the first conservative (pure blood) to congratulate Mr. Obama.  All things considered, he ran a nearly flawless campaign with a lot of help from the media.  How on earth he was able to avoid being labeled a “flip flopper” is beyond me.  In fact, I’m sure John Kerry and Mitt Romney are wondering the same thing, but neither of them had the groundswell of media support (world wide) that Mr. Obama does.

I want to go on record as saying that I sincerely hope Obama does good things for our country.  I am an avid supporter of the office of the presidency regardless of who is in office.  Unlike nearly 100% of my liberal cohorts, I will not be dishing out juvenile names (such as retard, stupid, idiot, etc…) to describe my frustrations for Obama’s policies.  I will applaud when he’s right and criticize when he’s wrong.  I just hope, for our country’s sake, that he’s right on the important things.  FDR’s “New Deal” gave mild reprieve during it’s inception, but has left a wake of disaster ever since.  Much of what Obama is advocating echoes the ideas of FDR including a complete overhaul of several current private issues and turning them into public/social issues.

I felt very strongly that America screwed up by nominating John McCain and now that the election is over I think it’s safe to say that I was right, you were wrong.  McCain ran a terrible campaign that was highlighted by his decision to choose Sarah Palin as his running mate.  The ONLY immediate good thing about an Obama victory is that it opens the door to a Romney candidacy in 2012.  Now that America has spoken regarding race as dividing issue, hopefully we’ll be able to conquer bigotry.  Hopefully, America will realize their mistakes of following their emotions and giving into bigotry as espoused by people like Mike Huckabee.  Hopefully, America will recognize a solid leader in 2012 and vote for Mitt Romney (or anyone else who possesses such leadership skills).

Hey, a guy can hope, right?

John McCain certainly shook things up today with his surprising choice of Sarah Palin as his running mate for the 2008 election.  While most people were expecting a strong and sensible choice (such as Mitt Romney), John McCain proved once again that he just doesn’t care what the rest of America (and more importantly, the rest of his party) thinks or wants.  His decision shows us exactly what this man does best, which is play the political game.

During the primaries, John McCain proved to all of us how far he is willing to go in order to win his party’s nomination.  By insulting Mitt Romney with a plethora of unprofessional and immoral tactics and teaming up with Mike Huckabee during individual state primaries (in order to beat Mitt Romney), McCain proved that he is willing to do and say just about anything in order to win in politics.  He rivals the Machiavellian style of Bill and Hillary Clinton, but without all of the baggage and scandals.  Now, after he has all but secured the nomination for the republican party, John McCain choose to win the election rather than put America first.  He had every opportunity to grab Mitt Romney as his running mate and to use his economic and leadership genius to keep America strong, successful, and full of hope for the future.  Instead, he decided to use a gimmick and select a “woman” running mate in order to appease the disgruntled Hillary supporters who claim to feel left out by Obama’s decision not to vet Hillary Clinton as his running mate.

Yes, there is no mistake with this one…this is a total and absolute gimmick designed to give patronage to “Reagan democrats” rather than extend an olive branch to his party’s core constituency.  A gimmick that rivals nothing else ever attempted in political history due to the recent developments between Obama and Clinton.  A gimmick designed to trick feminists, moderate democrats, and Hillary supporters into crossing party lines and voting for him in November rather than cast a vote for Obama.  This is something that isn’t terribly surprising considering the source.  McCain has labeled himself via a smooth marketing campaign as the “Maverick” who drives the “Straight Talk Express”.  If anyone in the history of politics has outperformed McCain in self-marketing and tricky political maneuverings then that person is yet to be identified.  It could be argued that the Clintons have created and written the book on modern-day political Machiavellianism, but John McCain has perfected it by relying on his background as a P.O.W. during the Vietnam War.  Who would dare criticize McCain’s intentions as anything other than pure and sensible?  Who besides his democratic opponents, of course?!

Romney is the absolute most accomplished and tenured candidate to run for president since the days of Eisenhower (who was running as president due to his popularity as a tremendously successful military commander).  Everything Mitt Romney has touched has turned into gold, yet Americans (and more specifically, Mike Huckabee and his army of religious bigots) chose to hang their hats on the media-created fear of Mormonism as their reasoning not to vote for him.  While the state of Massachussetts was able to look past it and enjoy four years of the most successful state politics in history (for MA), the rest of America was too easily swayed by Huckabee’s crowd of home-schooled religious bigots as they smeared Romney and made him appear as something or someone to question and fear rather than to support and endorse.  There has never been a scandal in the life of Mitt Romney nor will there ever be.  Failure has never been a part of Romney’s resume, which is something that is quite impressive considering the venues he has thrown himself into (see: Winter Olympics, Salt Lake City as a perfect example of throwing himself into a complete mess and turning the situation into a raving unparalleled success).  I defy anyone to name another person more qualified, complete, talented, or perfect to run for president than Mitt Romney!

So, with the “Golden Boy” sitting in the bleachers just waiting for McCain to grab, he is once again ignored via a vast effort of political expediency by John McCain.  A political party that has never enshrouded itself into identity politics, class warfare, gender politics, or racial politics, seems to be heading down that road.  There’s not much good that can come from this and the only proof needed is to look at the modern-day democratic party.  They have carved out an identity of their entire party that is enveloped by individualism, class, religion, race, and pseudo-collectivism.  They have endorsed the handbook of Karl Marx (The Communist Manifesto) as their guide and the results have been catastrophic.  With congress enjoying approval ratings in the single digits (yes, that’s right…SINGLE DIGITS…) do we really need any more proof that the leaders of the democratic party are all in it for themselves?  Case in point: the thirteen wealthiest congressmen (or congresswomen) are ALL democrats!  That’s right…not one single republican pushes through the top thirteen in accumulative wealth!  This seems odd especially when one considers the mantra of the Left: we are our brother’s keeper.  The perfect example of their selfish political meanderings is the recent decision to go on vacation without creating a new energy policy.  It seems that Nancy Pelosi was more concerned with selling 5,000 copies of her book than she was with helping the country resolve their failed energy policies of the past.  By the way, when someone sells 5,000 copies of their book it is NOT something to brag about.  In fact, it would be very safe to say that such a showing indicates a complete failure.  I couldn’t be happier about her failures as a woman, a writer, or as the Speaker of the House.  Everyone on the Right warned the country of what would happen if Pelosi were given the keys to the Capital Building…and no one listened.  Since the democrats took over in 2006 (campaigning on a platform of “change” just like Obama is), the economy has been crushed, inflation has increased at record levels, the US currency has been slapped around like a little orphan girl, and unemployment has inched above the 5% threshold for the first time in years!  Yes, that is definitely “change”.  It’s a change from good to bad…so it looks like no one can claim that the democrats weren’t being honest when they ran on a platform (marketing campaign) of “change”! (more…)

Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for
all ten comes to $100. If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes,
it would go something like this:

The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.
The fifth would pay $1.
The sixth would pay $3.
The seventh would pay $7.
The eighth would pay $12.
The ninth would pay $18.
The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.

So, that’s what they decided to do.

The ten men drank in the bar every day and seemed quite happy with the
arrangement, until one day, the owner threw them a curve. “Since you are
all such good customers,” he said, “I’m going to reduce the cost of your
daily beer by $20.”  Drinks for the ten now cost just $80.

The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes
so the first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free.
But what about the other six men – the paying customers? How could they
divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his ‘fair share?’

They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted that
from everybody’s share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would each end
up being paid to drink his beer. So, the bar owner suggested that it would
be fair to reduce each man’s bill by roughly the same amount, and he
proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay.

And so…

– The fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% savings).
– The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33%savings).
– The seventh now pay $5 instead of $7 (28%savings).
– The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 (25% savings).
– The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 (22% savings).
– The tenth now paid $49 instead of $59 (16% savings).

Each of the six was better off than before. And the first four
continued to drink for free. But once outside the restaurant, the men
began to compare their savings.

“I only got a dollar out of the $20,” declared the sixth man. He
pointed to the tenth man,” but he got $10!”

“Yeah, that’s right,” exclaimed the fifth man. “I only saved a
dollar, too. It’s unfair that he got ten times more than I!”

“That’s true!!” shouted the seventh man. “Why should he get $10
back when I got only two? The wealthy get all the breaks!”

“Wait a minute,” yelled the first four men in unison. “We didn’t
get anything at all. The system exploits the poor!”

So…the nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up.

The next night the tenth man didn’t show up for drinks, so the nine
sat down and had beers without him. But when it came time to pay the
bill, they discovered something important. They didn’t have enough money
between all of them for even half of the bill!

And that, boys and girls, journalists and college professors, is
how our tax system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the
most benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them for
being wealthy, and they just may not show up anymore. In fact, they might
start drinking overseas where the atmosphere is somewhat friendlier.

THIS IS WHY WE ABSOLUTELY NEED AN IMPARTIAL TAX CODE!

WE NEED THE “FAIR TAX” THAT CONGRESS IS SITTING ON RIGHT NOW!

Before I get to selection of names that John McCain goes by these days, allow me to make a simple observation.

A few years ago, the left-wing “blogosphere” surged onto the seen fueled by their hatred towards George W. Bush.  Out of the midst of this seething hatred for republicans and George W. Bush a new class of left-wing influences hit the seen.  One of these new entities rose to the top above all the rest much like how scum accumulates at the top of a pond.  The entity I’m referring to is no stranger to conservatives because of their outlandish and seething hatred for all things conservative: Daily Kos.   No other left-wing entity has been more inflammatory, embarrassing, and downright disgusting in nature than the Daily Kos has.  It should be noted that EVEN THE “DAILY KOS” PEOPLE ARE WELL AWARE OF THE CHARACTER OF JOHN McCAIN AND HAVE ACKNOWLEDGED THE FACT THAT HE IS NOTHING MORE THAN THE SUM OF THE NUMEROUS LIES THAT HE TELLS.  If you don’t believe me then feel free (buyer beware) to check it out yourself: http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2008/1/25/162026/147.  This should be very, very disturbing for republican conservatives when even a left-wing fanatical factory of filth and garbage is able to see exactly who John McCain really is!

_______________________________________________

Now…on to the many names of John McCain:

There are sooooooo many to choose from, but the list will begin with the ones that have been heard most recently amongst discussion with conservative republicans as well as with what has been read in conservative writings.  Here goes…in no particular order:

John McKennedy

John McDemoncrat

John McLiberal

John McFlip-Flop

John McLiar or John McPinocchio or John McMachiavelli

John McCain’t

…or my favorite (in conjunction with any of the others listed above)…

John McDouchebag!

Whichever name you end up voting for, make sure you dial a “1” before the phone number and type in the text of your choice followed by an asterisk.  Obviously, the annoying television show “American Idol” and the nomination process for the American President is starting to have more in common the further we get into the whole mess.  At the helm of this embarrassment is none other than John McCain.  In the past, he has been found driving the “Straight Talk Express” across the country in an effort to win the GOP nomination on the shirt-tails of his POW experience in North Korea.  Somewhere along the line, he jumped ship from the “Straight Talk Express” (or he simply broke down on some highway in New Hampshire or Floriduh) and instead has been directing the movement of the enormous political aircraft carrier properly named, “The U.S.S. Pinocchio”.  McCain has shown every American with a heartbeat exactly what he is all about and exactly what he is truly made of by his most recent actions.  By insinuating lies supported by more lies about his arch rival, Governor Mitt Romney, he has shown his true colors as a modern-day Machiavellian.  Up until recently, Americans thought that it was only the Clintons who embraced this type of spineless, unethical, and immoral type of politicking.  Boy, were we wrong!  It would appear, my friends, that the self-proclaimed “foot soldier in the Reagan revolution” is laughing at us as he gathers up electorates on his way to the White House.

People in the media would often make fun of Rudy Giuliani for nearly always (and automatically) reverting back to his experience and leadership as NYC Mayor during the September 11th disaster.  They would say that he had nothing else to run on other than this experience and that he was monopolizing and manipulating the events for his own political gain.  Curiously, however, no one has dared challenge the old wooden man (McCain) of doing the exact same thing as his pal, Rudy.  While you will never hear me claim that McCain (a.k.a., McKennedy, McLiar, McBastard, etc…) shouldn’t be recognized or embraced for his service in the United States military, you will hear me question whether or not his experiences in North Korea warrant a bid for the presidency!  Yes, it is true that McCain was a POW in North Korea for more than five years.  Yes, it is true that his experiences are unquestionably respectable.  No, it does NOT mean we should overlook the amazingly large amount of flaws that he has purposely accumulated while he attempts to hold the republican party hostage on his way to assuming the role of Commander in Chief!  At some point, we absolutely have to draw the line…and for good reason.

I want to make it clear that it is not my claim or argument that John McKennedy would make a terrible president because I don’t know what kind of president he would be.  No one knows!  I have an idea of what kind of president he would be and I feel that the idea I have is well-grounded, objective, and fair.  What I am comfortable claiming is that he would make a TERRIBLE republican president and he should not even be allowed to carry the moniker (R) next to his name.  The reasons for this assertion are clear to anyone who calls themself a republican or conservative.

He has single handedly stymied the constitution and the free-speech that it protects by ushering in one of the most embarrassing works of legislation in our nation’s history.  The properly named “McCain/Feingold Campaign Finance Reform Bill” put an end to “soft money” political contributions and imposed limits to how much individuals are allowed (by federal law) to donate.  No longer are Americans able to support whom they want to support by the means they feel comfortable with.  Instead, McCain embraced a bill that inserted some of the largest amounts of federalism any single legislative act has seen!  Most political scholars would argue that the “McCain/Feingold” bill has more to do with protecting incumbents and solidifying their “good old boy” system of doing things in Washington because it is now much more difficult for an incumbent to be defeated than ever before.  It’s easy to see why 100% of liberal democrats supported this bill.  Is this even close to resembling what Ronald Reagan would have done?  I don’t think so.  Who is it that repetitively (and annoyingly) claims to have been a “foot soldier in the Reagan revolution”?  I thought so.

He also embraces the idea of capitalizing on a nearly untapped voting block (illegal immigrants and their direct friends/family members) by introducing another tragedy in the legislative branch of our government.  The duly named, “McCain/Kennedy Immigration Bill” allows for ALL illegal immigrants to simply stay where they are as long as they work with the federal government and set up some sort of a payment plan to pay a $3,000 fine.  I’m sure the interest rates they would extend to these law-breaking immigrants while setting up payment plans would be better than what you or I could get to finance a new home!  While Reagan actually did embrace amnesty at one time of his administration, it was loudly criticized by none other than Ronald Wilson Reagan immediately after it was sent through.  It would later be described as one of his biggest personal regrets as president.  Would Reagan endorse another wave of amnesty today especially when national security is at the highest level of concern?  I don’t think so.  Who is it that repetitively (and annoyingly) claims to have been a “foot soldier in the Reagan revolution”?  I thought so.  Maybe John McCain wasn’t taking notes during that particular Reaganomics 101 class!

McCain has admitted that economics is not one of his strong suits, which may be a reason why he voted against the Bush tax cuts…not once…but TWICE!  Personally, I think that would be a cop-out because he clearly admitted that the tax cuts benefited the rich way too much.  This is a very scary school of thought for conservatives because it ushers in the talking-points and political ideals of liberal democrats.  The far left have made it clear that one of their primary voting blocks are the people who are easily offended by economic differences between Americans.  They have not hidden the fact that they (democrats) love to use class warfare as a major political platform as an effort to motivate the economically deprived towards voting for them.  A large, vibrant red flag should go up inside the heads of any clear-minded American whenever you hear a politician use the phrase “…benefits the rich too much” because what they’re really saying is that they’re trying to solidify more entitlement programs that would make the lower class even MORE dependent upon the federal and state government.  Let me be absolutely clear…this train of thought is nowhere close to basic core beliefs of true conservatives and republicans.  In fact, this train of thought couldn’t be more opposite!  Yet, here we have a person running for president on the republican ticket who espouses class warfare by his actions, while speaking a completely different tactic with his mouth.  There is no one on earth who would dare say Ronald Reagan would ever endorse higher taxes.  Would Ronald Reagan have voted against the Bush tax cuts (which CLEARLY gave much more of a percentage back to lower income wage earners than higher wage earners) had he been given the chance?  I don’t think so.  Who is it that repetitively (and annoyingly) claims to have been a “foot-soldier in the Reagan revolution”?  I thought so.

While there are still several other examples of John McKennedy falling off of the republican bandwagon, I don’t see the point in writing them in this particular blog.  I consider it the responsibility of every American voter to find information on any candidate their deciding to vote for (or against).  Too many men have died in our country fighting for the right to cast a vote in a free political system and whenever anyone takes this right too lightly it is unfortunately the same as spitting in the face of these men.  In the end, you should still vote your conscience and heart, while trying to find the person who most closely resembles your own values and beliefs.  Religion should not be an issue in the matter (which is why I can’t take Huckabee seriously) unless the person running for office has a background of fanatical religious behavior or intolerance.  I will admit, however, that I would have to really know a lot about a person if he/she were running for federal office as a Muslim.  I don’t consider that any form of bigotry because I’m simply acknowledging the fact that we are directly at war with radical Islam.  That’s the only reason, by the way.

As for McDouchebag’s actions, it is clear that he is willing to do or say anything in order to gain power.  He has blatantly spread obvious lies about his main opposition in the republican party, Governor Mitt Romney.  Even the New York Times has written that McCain’s claim about Romney supporting a secret time table for retreat from Iraq can not be supported by the facts.  Yep, that’s right…THE NEW YORK TIMES even recognizes a lie even if it comes from the person they are supporting for president (by the way, it should be a huge alarm sound when the New York Times supports a republican nominee for president)!  McCain’s actions clearly show the American people that he’s willing to do anything to become president.  Eventually, and he’s coming every so close right now, we will be unable to tell the difference between John McCain and Bill/Hillary Clinton.

It’s downright despicable what McKennedy did just prior to the Florida primaries and because of those actions I can not in good faith vote for him if he does end up winning the republican nomination.  I have promised myself that there is no chance I will ever vote for John McCain because I’m offended that he would assume I’m as stupid as he is when it comes to party politics.

In fact, John McCain actually is a fairly ignorant man.  It is rarely reported that he graduated SECOND FROM THE BOTTOM of his class while at the Naval Academy.  Does this sound like the credentials of a man seeking to become the most powerful person in the world?  Ann Coulter recently said, “John McCain is so stupid that he doesn’t even realize he’s been caught lying”.  While I do not agree with everything Miss Coulter has to say about politics, I will admit that I think she’s really hit a good point with these comments.  McCain is not the sharpest tool in the shed and I think that a McCain presidency would make “W” look like a Rhodes Scholar in comparison!

BELOW ARE A FEW (just a few) OF THE LIES, FLIP-FLOPS, AND INDISCRETIONS OF JOHN McCAIN:

  • John Fund, from the Wall Street Journal, reported that McCain would NEVER appoint a judge like Samuel Alito because he “wears his conservatism on his sleeve”.  Recently, at the GOP debates in Simi Valley, CA, John McCain said that he has always supported Alito and embraces the mold that he fits on the bench.  Hmmmmm…
  • McCain went from saying he would not support repeal of Roe v. Wade to saying the exact opposite.  Hmmmm…
  • McCain criticized TV preacher Jerry Falwell as “an agent of intolerance” in 2002, but has since decided to cozy up to the man who said Americans “deserved” the 9/11 attacks. (Indeed, McCain has now hired Falwell’s debate coach.)  Hmmmmm…..
  • McCain used to oppose Bush’s tax cuts for the very wealthy, but he reversed course in February.  Hmmmmm…..
  • In 2000, McCain accused Texas businessmen Sam and Charles Wyly of being corrupt, spending “dirty money” to help finance Bush’s presidential campaign. McCain not only filed a complaint against the Wylys for allegedly violating campaign finance law, he also lashed out at them publicly. In April, McCain reached out to the Wylys for support.  Hmmmmmm….
  • In 2000, McCain accused George W. Bush of being too negative towards him and “attacking” his record.  He said that the campaign George W. Bush ran could never be endorsed or simulated by himself because he could “never sink that low”.  In 2007, John McCain hired the exact same campaign directors/managers as George W. Bush had during the 2000 primaries.  Hmmmmm…..
  • He now not only approves of, but completely endorses a federally mandated “carbon tax” that would add to the cost of gas prices and only be enforced in America.  He agrees that humans are the sole reason for possible climate change (eventhough the jury is definitely still out on this issue), which is a direct opposite view than he had just one year ago.  Hmmmm…..

My dear friends, there are dozens of other examples that clearly illustrate the cunning and dishonest nature of John McDouchebag.  He has clearly gone after Mitt Romney for being a “flip flopper” when it is absolutely evident that he is one of the biggest violators of political maneuvering who claims a position depending on which way the wind is blowing.  I hate to be so blunt with assertions like this, but there’s no other way to say it: John McCain, unfortunately, is a bold-face liar who can not be trusted to tell the truth.  He should not be running for president under the republican ticket and if he were running as a democrat or independent then I really wouldn’t have much of a beef with him because he’d be well within his right to say or do exactly what he is currently saying and doing.  It must not go unnoticed that John McCain is attempting to hold the republican party hostage and the body count is piling up in his wake of Machiavellian tactics that only Bill and Hillary Clinton can appreciate.

Buyer beware!

Had I known that the major prerequisite for Iowans considering whom to vote for (president of the United States) was to simply be a pastor, preacher, or evengelical freakazoid then I would have become ordained through an on-line surrogate and ran for office myself!  The mere fact that Governor Huckabee is using the predisposed bigotry of evengelical Christians is shameful enough for me to consider voting for myself as a write-in candidate or for the Independent or Libertarian candidate if he is eventually chosen as the GOP nominee!

“I’d like to ask that same person who voted for Huckabee if they would have still voted for him if he were a Mormon.  I’m guessing that the answer to that question would incredibly easy to figure out…thus proving my assumption of religious manipulation and bigotry.”  – Nostromos, 2008

Did any of the Iowan pinheads consider Huckabee’s past record as a moderate conservative…at best?  Did any of them even care to realize how lenient he has been on giving away tax dollars to illegal immigrants?  I’m not proposing myself as an expert in all political matters, but it seems to me that by giving tuition assistance to illegal immigrants while making blue collar Americans pay for theirs is not only ridiculous, but downright offensive in the highest degree!  I’m also not too sure about how responsible it is to give illegal immigrants access to driving licenses especially since the advent of globalized terrorism aimed squarely at our front door!

Another thing that has rarely been discussed and is doubtful that the masses of home-schooled evengelical bigots even considered before casting their vote for the Huckster is the enormous black-eye Mike Huckabee cast upon himself as a man and his administration as a leader is the disgusting reality that he pardoned hundreds of convicts during his time as Governor of the state of Arkansas.  One of the people he personally sought after to pardon (by personally administering massive amounts of pressure to the parole board) was a convicted rapist and murderer.  After he pardoned him, the sick S.O.B. headed west to Kansas City and murdered a newly wed couple.  Two people who had just took the plunge to begin their lives together anew were snuffed out of existence simply because of the wreckless act of Gov. Huckabee.  This is inexcuseable for any leader we trust to protect us.  It is more than inexcuseable.  It is disgusting and highly aggrivating…but I guess the “Christian” voters of the great state of Iowa didn’t care about that.  How many convicts did Romney pardon after his governorship?  The answer: NONE!  Now, that speaks volumes about the type of man Romney is especially when compared to the type of man Huckabee is. I’ve been a Notre Dame football fan my entire life.  In fact, the Irish are the first team I can ever remember cheering for and it’s due in large part to my grandfather.  My grandfather is my namesake, one of my childhood idols, a former Captain of the Los Angeles County Fire Department, a die-hard Notre Dame fan, and yes…he’s Irish, too.  I’ve been told that the only reason he was a Fightin’ Irish fan was because of the school mascot being “The Fightin’ Irish”.  Of course, it didn’t hurt that he was also raised in the Catholic Church, but he was never an active participant in the faith.  For the most part, he was simply being loyal to his generational roots, which can be traced back directly to Ireland; and in his mind it was only logical that he be a loyal and stalwart Fightin’ Irish fan.

As I grew from a child to an adolescent; and from an adolescent to a young man, he would literally bribe me with the most grandious objects if I would only attend the University of Notre Dame.  For instance, there was a standing offer from my grandfather to pay my tuition if I ever accepted an opportunity to attend the university.  The only problem I had with this was that I was an average high school student with average S.A.T. scores, average athletic talent (or at least not the exceptional talent needed to play for the Irish), and nothing extraordinary in regards to my race, creed, or color of skin (which, in today’s politically correct establishment would have certainly helped).  It still didn’t stop me from secretly applying to the school as I neared high school graduation.  I kept it secret simply because I knew the chances for me actually attending Notre Dame were lower than the odds of Bill Clinton remaining loyal to his wife!  I didn’t want a lot of attention drawn to the event of me certainly being rejected, which (of course) happened.

The other main bribe that my grandfather used to motivate me was his beautiful red Corvette, which he promised to give to me upon graduation from Notre Dame.  For a young man, the motivation of a Corvette was much more appealing than the offer of tuition expenses being taken care of!  Well, the bribes were more of a constant source of conversation once I progressed a little more into my high school career, but it wasn’t a conversation topic that I intentionally avoided.  I loved to day-dream about the prospects!  Who wouldn’t?  So, instead of planning for a degree from the University of Notre Dame, I became just as stalwart and loyal in my support (and love) of Notre Dame football.  The program became my life; my daily bread; my obsession!  I loved everything that had even a modicum of similarity with the Fightin’ Irish, but what I loved the most was the discipline, character, and nature of Notre Dame football.  It became something that I not only expected, but appreciated with the utmost level of respect.  A Notre Dame football player was smart, athletic, tough, hard-nosed, and often times magical!  You never saw the program under scrutiny of scandal and you always saw the head coach recieving respect from the players.  Lou Holz (who would later go by the title “coach” or “the coach” instead of by his name) was a man I absolutely fell in love with and enjoyed watching more than any other coach on the planet (including the immortal, Bob Knight).  The players he recruited were emblazoned in my mind as they captured my heart and soul each and every late-summer and fall.  It’s hard to enjoy other football programs when you’re used to watching players like Chris Zorich, Reggie Brooks, Rick Mirer, Tim Brown, Ron Powlus, Ricky Watters, Lake Dawson, and Rahib Ismail (who is still the most unbelievable college football player I have ever seen and the fact that he never won the Heisman Trophey is not only a travesty, but a complete and utter shame for the NCAA).

I was spoiled with National Championship teams as well as stolen National Championships, which is STILL a major source of contention for me.  Lou Holz won only one National Championship, but it is absolutely clear that he really should have won three!  The infamous “phantom block in the back” during the 1989 Championship game and the ridiculous stolen Championship of 1993 (which was GIVEN to Florida State instead of Notre Dame eventhough the Irish beat the Seminoles near the end of the season).  Being a Notre Dame fan was more than just rooting and cheering for the team.  It was a way of life and the eventual success or failure of the Irish would dramatically affect my mood for the entire season (and in the cases of 1989 and 1993 it would carry over into the terribly long off-season).  In fact, I can remember crying some tears when Boston College upset Notre Dame immediately after the monstrous victory over Florida State in 1993.  I was in high school at the time and it wasn’t something that a lot of my peers could understand if I broadcasted the fact that I shed some tears over a college football game.  I was miserable after that game and can remember being depressed for a very long time.  My fit of depression wasn’t at all helped when the NCAA decided to allow Florida State to have the opportunity to play for the National Championship instead of Notre Dame.  I have since had a salty taste in my mouth about the entire championship process in regards to college football.  It’s obvious that there is a political nature involved, which undermines the efforts of the young men participating in the sport.  I never understood how sports writers (guys who have more than likely NEVER played the game of football in their entire, nerdy, marching band lives) could be given so much power in determining the eventual national champion!  It would be the equivilant of allowing federal prison inmates the absolute power of determining who our next Commander in Chief would be!  It makes no sense, has never made sense, and continues to make no sense nearly twenty years later! (more…)

Recently, there was a debate held between the presidential hopefuls of the Demoncratic Party, which was broadcasted on YouTube.  It’s uncertain how effective this was among demographics and actual voters, but the concept is pretty genuine and original, which I like and wholeheartedly support.

One thing of note, however, is the nature of the event that the DNC put on.  While they certainly took every advantage to bash America’s stance on terrorism and the current war against fanatical Islam, it was very interesting to take note of WHO the liberal POTUS hopefuls verbally abused the most!  One would think, of course, that they would go after President Bush, Vice-President Dick Cheney, or even Rudy Giuliani and Fred Thompson…right?  Nope.  If that’s what you thought then you’re way off base because the person they focused their vitriol on was none other than Mitt Romney, former governor of the Commonwealth of Massachussetts!  That’s right…Mitt Romney!  In fact, I don’t think they even mentioned Giuliani, McCain, or Thompson throughout the debate!

In fact, it has been a rather common occurance for the DNC to take cheap shots at Governor Romney.  To date, he has been the most singled-out, most attacked, and most harrassed among all of the GOP candidates…but for what purpose?  What reason?  Doesn’t it make sense to attack the person you fear the most?  Why else would they spend so much time focusing on Mitt Romney instead of the other candidates?

I submit that the reason is simple.  Mitt Romney is the only true conservative running for POTUS with the only real shot at winning the nomination.  If they can succeed at weakening him now then they’ll have less work to do after the nominations have been set.  While it’s a pretty done-deal that Hillary will win the nomination for the Left (if not as President then she’ll most certainly be on the ticket with Barack Hussein Obama…yeah, for real, that is his real name, by the way…), it’s still uncertain who will come out on top in the GOP.  With the amount of attacks geared towards Romney in relation to the rest of the GOP nominees, it’s pretty clear who the Left feels is their primary threat.

Romney supporters are taking this in stride because we’ve felt all along that Governor Romney is the real-deal with a true talent of connecting with people and leading America.  The fact that the Left is viciously attacking him and his ideals is only evidence that they also see what we (as Romney supporters) have seen all along.

Romney holds a commanding lead in New Hampshire and Iowa right now.  Should Romney win those states convincingly then the momentum that he could generate from that could be all he needs to take the GOP nomination.  He’s everything that anyone with a modicum of political intellect (or a shred of love towards America, her culture, and freedoms) could possibly want in a candidate.  In fact, some have gone as far as calling him “golden“.

For now, all I can say is that if the Left is so intent on focusing on Romney then they must have some fear towards him in the long run.  I think they would rather run against ANY of the other candidates than run against Romney.  There hasn’t been a person with as many skills as Romney run for President in a long, long, long time.  In fact, the last person was probably that little-known movie star from California…Ronald Reagan!

Here’s a breakdown of the attacks on the GOP candidates stemming from the Demoncratic Party:

According to most political pundits and talking-heads across the country, presidential hopeful Mitt Romney has been gathering momentum (also known as, “moMITTum” to Mitt-heads across the nation), exposure, and support at a rate much higher than Hillary’s frequency of Botox injections!  In fact, Mitt Romney has been earning national respect from voters quicker than Bill Clinton can think of excuses not to sleep in the same room as his wife!  In the past three GOP debates, Governor Romney has blown-up the field by showing off his witt, charisma, knowledge, and public speaking skills.  It has been evident since the beginning that Gov. Romney has continuously kept himself one step ahead of his competitors with invigorating ideas, well thought-out comments, and pithy (but remarkably substantive) rebuttles to statements made by his competitors and/or ridiculous questions asked by the moderators.  However, it’s not like John McCain and Ron Paul have really made it difficult for him, either!

For the third straight time, Mitt Romney has “won” the debate by focusing on the fundamentals of his presidental campaign platform: The Strength of American FAMILIES, the Strength of the ECONOMY, and the Strength of the MILITARY.  Basically, it’s a full-frontal assault focusing on “STRENGTH” instead of weakness…which (unfortunately) is the shameful approach of the [other] presidential nominees running out of the political party symbolically represented by a jackass.  No kidding.  With all of the vitriol spewing from the Demoncratic Party’s foaming mouths regarding anything America (Bush) has done in an effort to fight and combat radical Islam, the Left has conveniently (yet again) avoided producing alternate solutions to this growing issue.  Heh…it’s almost as if the Demoncratic Party wants to campaign on a “platform of change“, but fool the American people by never actually submitting ideas for change!!!  [I GUESS NO ONE CAN BLAME THEM SINCE IT SEEMED TO WORK RATHER WELL IN NOVEMBER OF 2006]  It has been a pleasant surprise, however, to see a major presidential nominee focus so intently on the current status of the American family companioned by his sincere intent to strengthen the family unit here in the U.S.A., which is one of the more astute and original platforms to build upon as a politician.  The American family unit has been under attack for the better part of three decades and the deterioration of this family unit has been the fundamental reason for our decaying society.  If anyone can help strengthen the central aspect of the overall strength of our country (the family unit) then that person is without a doubt the former Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachussetts, Mitt Romney.  It simply doesn’t get any better than him.  Period.

Time after time, Gov. Romney has professionally deflected the ridiculous questions about his faith by combining them with his personal (but not necessarily religious) beliefs about social morals, integrity, family strength, and honesty.  The “main-scream” media is not about to ease up on their bombastic and shameful attacks on Mitt Romney, but there is a silver-lining to this strategy of trying to weaken Romney through his religous affiliation.  If anyone can turn a negative into a positive it is Governor Romney and he’s proven this ability countless times in his professional career, political career, and in the case of the 2002 Winter Olympics.  Now he is doing the same thing with the attempts to label him as a wreckless religious icon by fielding each and every question with his head held high and enveloping the question with sincere-driven comments of his personal values and comittments, which are second-to-none.  There hasn’t been a presidential hopeful with more courage, more private-sector success, more moral character, or more integrity than Governor Mitt Romney.  There just simply hasn’t been anyone and I defy the person who says there has!  He’s been married only once; has never fathered a child out of wed-lock; does not drink alcohol, use drugs, or use tobacco; he has TWO degrees from Harvard; has never been involved with personal, professional, or political scandal; he’s a self-made millionaire through businesses that he personally got off the ground; has never been in trouble with the law; he’s rescued several “blue-chip” Fortune 500 companies from disaster and turned them into household names (can anyone say, “Staples”???  How about “Dominos Pizza”???); and has never impugned his integrity in order to get something of value.  He attends church services regularly and garners his life by the teachings of Jesus Christ, whom he has proclaimed as his one and only personal Lord and Savior.  The actual name of the church he attends is: The Church of Jesus-Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  Personally, I can’t think of one single Christian denomination (besides the “Church of Christ“, or “Community of Christ“) that has the literal name of “Jesus Christ” in it besides the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints!  I’m not inferring anything by that comment except for the fact that the mere name of his church reflects that they are very much oriented towards worshiping, understanding, and believing in Jesus Christ…the first fundamental aspect of “Christianity“.  If the media and his opponents want to label him as “non-Christian” then they obviously haven’t a clue as to what they’re talking about because I feel that there has NEVER been more of a Christ-like person running for the office of Commander in Chief than Mitt Romney…and no, I’m not forgetting that Pat Robertson, Al Sharpton, and Jesse Jackson (what a JOKE) have recently made attempts to become POTUS (President of the United States)!  In fact, I bet there are more people in America whom refuse to call Al Sharpton, Pat Robertson, and Jesse Jackson by their self-proclaimed titles of “Reverend” than there are whom truly do support their titular rankings in Christianity!  Now, THAT would be an interesting national poll, wouldn’t you think?

America would benefit mightily by the leadership and moral character of Mitt Romney and Mormons across the world can easily say that Mitt Romney would NEVER use his religion or religious beliefs to mitigate, arbitrate, or force his agenda through the system.  In fact, not even his own church (The Church of Jesus-Christ of Latter-Day Saints) has publicly endorsed him because THAT’S NOT WHAT THE MORMON CHURCH GETS INVOLVED WITH!  The LDS church has always been apolitical in everything they have done; and they’ve never actively (or financially) promoted, supported, or fought against any political party or individual politician!  You will NEVER hear a Mormon Bishop (equivilant to a pastor or preacher in other Christian churches) stand up in front of the congregation and submit his ideas for or against a politician/political party.  You may hear some Mormons get rather vociferous about certain social issues and laws, but they will never use their church to endorse a politician.  It just simply doesn’t happen, nor will it ever!  While other churches use their influence to nudge their paritioners or congegation to “vote a certain way” or to “support a certain politician”, the Mormon church will never be a part of such practice.  So, with all of this evidence supporting the idea that Mitt Romney will be the Commander in Chief, first…father, second…Mormon, third…why is there so much angst, vitriol, and fear that having a Mormon president will be detrimental to the country as a whole?  Do they not realize that most Mormons are usually the highest regarded moral examples of their respective communities and neighborhoods?  Do they not realize that Mormons are usually the most actively participating members of Christianity 365 days a year?  Not alwaysbut usually!  Of course, there are always some bad apples from every apple tree, but as a whole I think it is safe to say that the Mormon community is rather solid in their character, morals, and actions…[and NO, the Mormon church does NOT practice polygamy (a widely held opinion of many)].  Gee-whiz, wouldn’t it be nice to finally have someone as president who exhibits such a high moral code?  With the world apparently crashing down in overall morality and integrity, I think it is high time that the country set-apart as the world leader put a man in the Oval Office with such a pristine, unshakable character towards the greater good of humanity.  I think it’s about time that America put a man in office who will use the Oval Office desk as a tool to write law, veto ridiculous spending, balance the budget, manage wars, and protect the American family…instead of using it as a “stripper’s pole at a cheap late night brothel”!

I stand committed to the support of Mitt Romney for our nation’s next Commander in Chief because I feel very strongly that Gov. Romney possesses every important skill/ability that we not only expect out of a president, but desperately need.  I feel strongly that I can tell anyone that, if elected, Mitt Romney will not get involved with the personal scandals that have flooded the scene of our past leaders.  He will clean up Washington D.C. and put an end to pork-barrell spending that has crippled our nation’s financial situation.  He will lower taxes and make living in this great country much easier as well as enjoyable.  He will strengthen our military across the board.  He will restructure our beurocratic entitlement and social systems into a much more refined and successful program.  He will work towards the goal of making sure that EVERY American has sufficient health-care provisions.  He will highlight and focus on education for our children; turning this issue into success instead of rhetoric.  He will fight to keep American jobs on American soil.  He will work vigorously on strengthening the family unit and making America a more convenient place for the establishment of family values.  He will protect traditional marriage as being between a man and a woman.  He will fight to restore sovereignty to the states and give them more opportunities to reflect the values of those living in their respective states; such as abortion and taxes…after all, why else do we even have 50 states if they’re not sovereign?  He will never give up on the current war on terror, which threatens the security of the world.  He will institute a broad foreign policy that will put America back on the pedestal as the leading nation of nations (based on a theory that he believes in, which is that “politics end at our nation’s shore-lines”).  Why do I claim that he will do these things?  Simple.  He’s done them in the past already!  Everything he sought out to accomplish as Governor in one of the most liberal states in the country he has accomplished, thus leaving the state in pristine condition upon his exit after only four years!  [IT SHOULD ALSO BE NOTED THAT HE ACCOMPLISHED EVERYTHING IN THE COMMONWEALTH WITHOUT RAISING TAXES…EVER!]  He’s a man of his word and puts a high priority on honesty and integrity; what he says he’ll do is exactly what he will do and there is NO evidence to the contrary.  He could be the best thing to happen to the U.S.A. since the World War II era.  It’s almost as if he’s too good to be true!

THOUGHT:  The attractive things about Mitt Romney have been his professional successes, political successes, 2002 Winter Olympic success, family success, intellectual successes, communicating abilities, leadership qualities, and character.  He personally exhibits all of these strengths with every step he takes and the national media (the outfits who actually support viable candidates from the GOP) is quick to realize this and bring it to the front and center.  However, a good question to ask (or at least think about) is whether or not Mitt Romney would be the same man today (with ALL of his current successes, strengths, and accomplisments) if he were not a member of the Church of Jesus-Christ of Latter-Day Saints???  Would it be fair to say that Mitt Romney is the man who he is today because he is a Mormon?  What if he were a Catholic?  A Baptist?  Agnostic?  An Athiest?  Would he still have the same values, skills, and experience?  Better yet, if he did still have the same values and skills then would he still be a glimmering example by his life’s actions and decisions?  I’m not going to comment on this, but rather pose this thought in a codified manner and leave it at that.  It’s an interesting thought to process in your mind and may help some of you get passed the idea of his relationship with the Mormon church as being something negative instead of something positive.

QUOTES FROM GOV. MITT ROMNEY ON FAMILY VALUES AND STRENGTH:

“‘…talk makes no sense when you’re not getting anything done. We need someone who understands that it’s the results we’re after. And we need a president who understands that the strength of America is not in Washington, D.C. – it’s in our people, it’s in our churches, it’s in our businesses. It’s in thousands of volunteer associations all across this country that make our country better every day, and if our government could just get out of the way, America all by itself would just become greater and greater.'”

People, not government, are the source of America’s strength.  There is no place that is more important to the future strength of America than the American home.”

What is the culture of this country, what are our underpinnings? We respect hard work … We are self reliant, we respect human life, we are a religious people… We are a purpose-driven people founded on the family unit. I think every child deserves to have a mother and a father.”

America cannot continue to lead the family of nations around the world if we suffer the collapse of the family here at home.”

American values are at the heart of America’s historic rise to world leadership. These include, among others, respect for hard work, sacrifice, civility, love of family, respect for life, education and love of freedom. To remain a superpower in the world we must continuously and vigorously reaffirm these key components that have led to America’s greatness as a country.”

ON ABORTION:

I am pro-life. I believe that abortion is the wrong choice except in cases of incest, rape, and to save the life of the mother. I wish the people of America agreed, and that the laws of our nation could reflect that view. But while the nation remains so divided over abortion, I believe that the states, through the democratic process, should determine their own abortion laws and not have them dictated by judicial mandate.”
